Hello everyone!
I'm Adrian, 39 years old and from Zürich, Switzerland. I'm working as full time game developer since we've founded our Indiegame Studio in 2010. As a big fan of many early console games and the genre defining metroidvania classics, i've enjoyed many of those speedruns on youtube. In the past years i've worked on our newest metroidvania inspired pixelart game, that has been released for PC & Consoles last week. Now after its release, i must admit that i can't wait to see a first speedrun of it. As i am new to the Speedrun community, i'm not sure if it would be fine and legit to request or add a speedrun of our own game.
Feedback would be very appreciated.

Nothing forbids you for requesting your own game to the site. I saw several indie games here requested/ran by their developers. It doesn't matter if you are new to the speedrun community or not.
Which game is it by the way? I love metroidvanias.

The name of the game is Cryogear and it is available for Xbox, Switch and Steam. Not sure how it is about posting links, so if any speedrunner is looking for a new challenge, i can offer a free copy to give it a try.
@polarityflow, I did exactly that, and I know of at least two other people who run their own games, as Oreo321 has already said.

Thanks for your feedback! Nice, whats the name of your game? I've submitted Cryogear with a first minimum completion run on youtube to speedrun.com today, but i really wasn't that fast (1h 57m, 55%), so i'm sure theres lot of potential to complete it faster. I'll try to submit 100% and NG+ runs with good ending asap. Everyones very welcome to join! :)
My game is called JJAT. It has some metroidvania inspirations, but it's too short and has way too few paths to be called an actual metroidvania (the 100% category is just under 5m 50s).
I'll definitely check your run out, when it's up here. :) But I must admit that for me a ~2 hour run is currently too long... the longest game that I run is ~40 minutes long (in a worst case scenario).
