Capture card(?) advice

Hi!

With the recent ban on Emulators, i am now out of being able to submit legal LM runs, (which i do not agree with, but that's for another time) Due to me not owning a capture device.

I am only 16 years of age, and have a super-tight budget, and my setup consists of a 2012 Laptop, with 3 USB 2.0 headers, and i use an original Gamecube, with Composite AV cables. Does anyone know of what i can use to fit my needs, so i can resume making legal runs, with 100% proof?

-Thank you!

When I first got into streaming, I used the Dazzle DVC 100. Sadly, they don't seem to produce it new anymore but you can find it used on eBay for really cheap. Here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pinnacle-Dazzle-Video-Capture-Device-DVC100-Rev-1-1-/172149165283?hash=item2814e3cce3:g:XREAAOSwAuNW7El3

Something like that would be your cheapest option in my opinion. I personally use the Elgato game capture HD: http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Systems-Capture-Definition-Recorder/dp/B00840353W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1459356513&sr=1-1

I know that is probably way out of your budget, but I thought I would provide a couple links for options. I hope you find something that works so you can continue to run LM :)

Emulators have been banned for years, it's only USB loading that was banned recently, which would still require a capture card.

Since you're using a laptop, you're forced to use an external capture card. Keep in mind that you're going to need to use a splitter of some sort to make the game playable, because external cards are going to have a pretty big delay of anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds. Especially with USB 2.0 cards.

Make sure you grab composite splitters so you can hook your Gamecube up to the TV and capture card.

If you want something ridiculously cheap you can get an easycap or a diamond dvc5000. They both suck but what do you expect? theyre like $30.

I use a Dazzle DVC 100 currently. It's not bad and it's pretty price effective.

I've been using an $8 ezcap since late 2014 and it's worked perfectly, but I've heard they can be a bit hit-or-miss EDIT: I think it may have actually been $5, lol

I know this is a very old thread, but I also have been using a DVC100 since December and if you buy yourself an S-Video adapter for the Wii you can get 480p out of it. Highly recommended.
