I want to speed run me playing Hot Cross Buns on a recorder
6 years ago

Hi, I recently found my recorder in my room and the only song I remember to play due to how simple it is and quick. So then I was like hey I should speedrun this just for fun but it doesn't really count as a game so what should I do? (also I don't know how to ask mods and write down my speed run because I am a few hours new to this website)

Playing a song is not a speedrun. I don’t even know how you play a song faster than what it’s actually supposed to be played it but that is beside the point.

Speedrunning is a hobby for video games.

I speedran a half dozen mini donuts before cross country practice when I was in high school once. Technically it was a double speedrun - the 3 mile round trip run to the shop and the donuts themselves.

Donuts > Pizza anyway

I could say it counts as a rhythm game

But it's still not speedrun-able, it would be like if people tried to put in speed runs for individual levels for Osu or DDR, there no time gain to be had and the only time loss is messing up and having to start over.

I disagree. You can play the song faster than normal, aiming for accuracy. There are guitar speed comps. all the time.

But uh yeah, speedrunning is based on video games mainly, not music.
