I was thinking about leaderboards for AC. Let's be honest - AC is RACING SIMULATOR and it has nothing to do with speedrunning. Create "balanced" leaderboards is challenge and make it competitive is almost impossible. The state is that fictional car "Red Bull X2010", which is not even exist in real world (concept), absolutely destroyed every competition in GLOBAL and F1 category, leaving other cars without chance to achieve time somewhere near first places.
In spirit of racing simulation, I offer REWORKING of the AC leaderboards if community will accept that. If you are stop speedrunning AC because of unbalanced leaderboards, now is chance to change that. I created poll to vote so I want to know your opinion about leaderboards.
My opinion: Leaderboards are NOT balanced and allowing modded cars was mistake. Game also missing full-game boards of main game mode, which should be added. That's why I rather clear all runs and start again with original cars, which are most balanced in terms of racing. Maybe we can whitelist verified cars, which will fit real classes like "WTCC", "BTCC" and so on. Anyway, let me know.

The main issue is that Radiator Champs does the same function better. SRC is not very good for IL categories that can potentially have automated submission/verification.
I'm sure this thread was made because of me lol. People like me want the number 1 spot on the leaderboards here, so if it requires using the X2010 then I will use it. If you ban the X2010, then people will just use the next fastest car. So, to me it seems kind of a waste of time to remove the X2010 and all those runs. Also, I'm assuming most if not all who post submissions here use PC, so that means they all have access to the X2010. The reason I started posting submissions here in the first place was because I believed I could beat all the other people who had the top times in the X2010. All in the spirit of competition.
Plus, it would be kind of annoying to have to redo 20+ tracks lmao. I'd still like to see if those I beat can respond by posting a better time to continue the competition.
Not a big deal to me if there is a complete reset though, as I know that I'm not a great sim racer and there are probably so many people that don't know about this place who could easily smash all these records. Felt nice while it lasted though.
It's hard to make leaderboards for hotlaps on this website, because hotlaping is not the same like speedrunning. The main issue is that we hold records, which arent records at all, it is just slower duplicate of already existing leaderboards of Radiator Champ. Maybe we should leave IL board and aim for speedrunning of main mode, which is "Carrer".
So, the final decision is overhaul the leaderboards and leave it "vanilla" content only. There are a lot of runs pending for verification but every IL run will be rejected because of changing rules.
It is one of the hardest choices I did in moderating. My mistake leads to totally unfair leaderboards. Few people were active here a lot so one solution for them is to move to Radiator Champ: http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/

I really love this change. I remember checking the Assetto Corsa leaderboards some years ago because I finally wanted to speedrun ANYTHING but the leaderboards seemed like such a mess and running the whole game is an absolute no-go. Thanks for finally giving my inner desire the chance to speedrun! <3
