Skips and timesavers

I thought I might as well make a general thread for this. So if you've found a skip or timesaver go ahead and post it here!

I found a timesaver while in the Museum of Freedom. It allows you to skip going through any of the rooms to go up floors. It also allows quick access to the roof with the Power Armor.

Nice parkour, definitely looks faster than running up the stairs. Will include in the route pastebin.

Cool jumps! Now I might be incorrect, but wouldn't item flying up the side of the building be faster? (If you only need the power armor) I know that you can item fly with the tricycle near codsworth.

Poland

Yes, it is much faster by sliding to the wall, I arleady tried it

Yeah, setting up item climbing is pretty slow. Sometimes it fails and you have to open the pipboy.

You don't get it at all. There is no real reason to get that minigun. Even if you do, you can just use the armor without the core to pick up the minigun, then leave the armor.

Nick Valentine Rescue:

You can skip ~50% of metro station (don't know location name).

Lunch video, watch first few seconds to be familiar with the location. After that start watching from 2:30 till the end. when you falling down you have to spamming "E" button. When you gonna try to do this glitch is a possibility to move over these gear-shaper door and fall from the other side. It just depends where are you gonna land.

btw. I am DontYouTrustMe_ on twitch.

EDIT: I have in mind my videos gonna disappear from twitch after few weeks so feel free to upload my videos on youtube or anywhere else. I dont mind at all.

Interesting, seems like you'd have to do it really fast for it to save time. Will definitely give it a try today. By the way, if you highlight your videos(http://www.twitch.tv/zuo_zuo/manager/past_broadcasts) they'll never disappear, but I'll try to make videos on every trick that's useful in a speedrun.

Yea, I spent lot of time to do this but item I used is not very well. I haven't got any bucket or watermelon on me unfortunately. Anyway it is about practising. I did it once before and after I found it's possible I made this video. I am pretty sure professional speedrunners will do much faster than me

I discovered something I like to call Object Sliding. It allows you to slide across the ground at super fast speeds. You hold an object as large as this engine in front of you, then slowly start bringing it towards your body and down towards your feet. It will push your body backwards rather quickly and you go faster on how much your looking down. If you're looking down too much though the object will clip through your body and do damage to you.

It can slide faster then what I did in the video and something to keep in mind is that I only tested this with the engine (which was outside concord) and it might be possible with other large stuff.

someone should quick make a duplicate of this version of the game, they might patch this out and make i harder for new players to get into the game later on. I'd do it right now but I'm at school and just thought of this.

that's mostly because physx glitches can be extremely hard to fix. In most cases you would have to dig deep into the physic system, break at important looking points, put in hours before you even have an idea of what causes the glitch and then spend even more hours fixing it. When you're all done, you probably caused new glitches that may or may not be way worse than the original bug, so start that procedure from the top. Mostly it's definetly not practical to invest so much money and man hours in something only a fraction of players exploit. I'd also say that most dev's at the fallout team are busy doing DLCs. But yeah, the vendor glitch might get patched out

I found out you can use sit on a chair through a wall in the ArcJet Systems lobby and get into the bottom part and end up in the middle of the Call to Arms quest. I don't know if this is useful to anybody, but I figured I'd let yall know.

We're really going to need some extra explanation of this, or a video. I don't get the prompt to use the chair, the quest doesn't trigger anywhere on that side if I tcl through, and I have absolutely no idea where the last 3 screenshots are or what advantage there is to getting into the CEO's office, wherever that is(even though I did the Call to Arms quest).

Okay nevermind we played around with this and it's completely useless, just results in a few new softlocks.

Quick way to get to Father and escape. There's probably a way to save the power armour, but it's really risky. Could save around 30 to 40 seconds through better execution with this, cuts out 3 elevator sequences that can't be sped up.

I found a new way to use Power Armor, and you buy the Fusion Cores/Power Armor from the vendor in DC. It also triggers the "Reveille" quest. Probably is faster than the previous Kellogg clip.

Found a small skip for the beginning of Park Street Station. Has to be executed pretty fast in order to save time, but it also skips spawning all enemies. Anyway, here ya go

France

Nice skip :) Does the enemies spawn near the vault door is skipped too ? If it is, it may not be worth because the door opening animation will be played ...

EDIT : Just tested it, the enemies near vault door still spawns. Worth to do if executed fast, as you said.
