Joy-Cons or Pro

Some of my Joy-Cons have drift and I want to buy a new controller and the Pro Controller is cheaper. Should I buy Joy-Cons or a Pro Controller?

So this question has been floating around a lot in the community. Basically, it's your choice. In my opinion the Pro Controller is WAY more comfortable and the buttons and sticks are are bigger, possibly helping with advanced movement options such as spin pounds. The perks of Joy-Cons are that you can down-throw. It is all your preference though.

There was just a thread on this question:

Mostly preference, though I have lost a few runs to my joy-cons disconnecting mid-way through a run.

My joy-cons never drifted actually

Something to consider is the battery life and connection of Joy-Cons as Odiria said.

if you want consistency get a pro controller, or if you have fat thumbs (like me) get a pro controller. Joy cons open up a few downthrow and therefore joy con only strats, but as has been mentioned, it's mostly preference

and what i mean by consistency is you wont have to buy more almost at all

Yeah, I'm on Team Procon. I ran the game with Joycons for a year, and having downthrows was nice, but my hands are just too big for the damn things. I would accidentally press the sholder buttons all the time because there was just nowhere to comfortably rest my fat fingers.

So when my Joycons started drifting, I bought a Procon. I loved immediately. It took literally one run to get used to. And since the stick is bigger, I feel like its easier to be precise with it. I don't miss down-throws at all. They're so incredibly situational, and there is always a Procon-friendly alternate strat that only loses a fraction of a second.

TLDR: Procon > Joycons Procon is more comfortable. Joycons are too small and prone to drifting. Down-throws aren't worth it.

I agree Ocarinist_Drew. Thanks for your stance. I'm a Pro-Con guy.

i am so confort with joy cons, and curiously i dont even have pro-con, i have never use it, but i am thinking on buying one and proving it, also because i feel like my joy-con is going to drift some time soon

Im using a pro controller but i think that joycons are better because you can do moves like downthrow easily.
