So this game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Seas_Havoc came to my mind when I heard about the 12-hour speedrun challenge going on in a couple of weeks. Good ol' nostalgia.
Now, I remember it being pretty tough when I was a kid, but after I googled a speedrun for the game and found a pretty tight TAS run on youtube () I'm pretty convinced this would take way more than 12 hours to learn on even a basic level let alone anything close to the TAS. There doesn't seem to be any big glitches or exploits, just a lot of platforming and memorization.
Has anyone here tried running this game? It doesn't seem so, or at least that's the impression I get because there isn't much I can see on the internet other than the TAS run I linked. I'm definitely going to mess around with this game, but I'm just curious if anyone here has even played this game casually.
Coming in way late on this but there is a leaderboard for this game now. Most people only run Easy mode because it's only 5 levels long but I've run Normal and Hard mode (hard mode is incredibly unfun).
