Do you think that you'll ever stop gaming?

I'm 23 now and I've been playing videos quite a lot since I was pretty small, but not to the extent that it has already become a part of me I can't take apart from myself anymore - just for relaxation and spending some time in a unique way that the "decent" adults won't do. :p

Well when it comes to the question of "am I going to keep playing video games", I'd say... maybe sure for some more time from now on, but in my view it still seems, that it's gonna turn out eventually better to spend my energy on other more "meaningful" things other from video gaming, I won't mind stopping playing videos when I become older and the time to make wiser decisions for my like has come. Or when I found something more important to deal with.

I tried to give up gaming once...once. I sold my PC and bought a Mac. Found myself months later still playing Dota and anything else I can run on it, until I broke down, sold it, and bought another gaming PC.

Ya know, it's funny talking about being old... when I was in Japan, OLD people would be in the arcades. Like, old old. Playing the horse racing games, some playing fighting games, some playing slots. But they were in the arcades in Japan...

I don't think gaming will ever leave me. I hope I learn to incorporate it into other goals I have in life as well though.

I'm super excited about gaming always & I've always been a bit of a mix between art and technology. I used to paint a lot, but I'm not very good with my hands. It has always been a fusion between my computer gaming interests and being exposed to the rich data of society that we live in. Also I do not think that PC gaming is over in any era. it will always be the choice of the gaming enthusiast who is willing to put in the extra effort for a richer, more rewarding experience.

I'm definitely not at the point of quitting games yet, but maybe in a decade or so it might happen. I've had times where I stopped playing games for a few weeks or even a month when I'm totally burnt out, but I end up coming back for more once I get motivated to do so.

Every time I look at Steam friend list, it only displays "the last time online 2/3/4 years ago. Now I play only some casual mobile games from the apknite website.

I know if I was going to stop gaming, I would have done it by now. I sure wouldn't have turned our bonus room into a game room and started collecting consoles and games if I was going to stop at some point. :)

Whos the oldest member here btw? I'm 34 turning 35 next march I'm an aries and people who are aries never give up, we are known for that competitive edge. :) This is such a great discussion and I welcome more threads like these. Me personally, I will never stop gaming and plan on doing it well into my 70s and 80s. I plan on making a very long career over it.

I quit gaming, and honestly I think it would do a lot of people good. I won't be one of those clowns that says you can absolutely never play video games ever again in your entire life or you are literally destroying yourself, but I honestly think there is just so much better stuff to do in the world than play multiple hours of video games every single day after work/school

Video games are the only thing that drove me into extreme depression (don't play OMORI)

ive always mostly watched others play games (videos/stream) than play my self. it has always annoyed me when someone says "so you play video games" when i answer "im on my pc" to "what do you do on your free time" because of course, you cant do anything else than play games on a computer and most modern pc games suck ass anyway since they are basically all the same shooter with different art styles and maps. of course there are other games than shooters but no one talks about those for some reason.

nice rambling

Honestly, I love gaming and I’ll probably do it for years but I can imagine myself stopping when I get a wife, kids and a job and I won’t have much time for gaming anymore. Maybe, I’ll play here and there for once in a while but I think when I get a family I won’t play much anymore.

But again I’m not even an adult yet so that won’t happen for a long time lol.
