No alert runs.

Is it possible to do "no alert" runs as a thing. Im currently working on that, and think its a little more interesting

For sure. I don't know the best way for me to add it to the boards here though.

Im thinking maybe where theres the difficulties, so "beginner" "normal" "hardcore" "hardcore (no alerts". I figure if someone is gonna do no alerts its better if its hardcor so theres a standard

Cool categories would be something like "Stealth" (0 alarms, bodies found, injuries), "Pacifist" (minimal possible enemy and civilian kills) "Ghost" (Stealth + Pacifist), and "all medals" (RTA timing with saving / loading / difficulty changes allowed).

Germany

I feel the same. To trigger an alert feels like an instant denial of the run since its against the philosophy of the game. Same goes for killing a civilian.

I'm favorable to a "no alert" category as well.

I'll add the category then. On a somewhat related topic, what do you all think of removing beginner and normal difficulties? None of those runs are faster than the current hardcore records as they are uncompetitive, so I don't see why they should remain, especially with a no alerts category.

Florida, USA

Yea, we shouldn't have too many categories, in my opinion. And difficulty level doesn't seem as meaningful a categorization as alerts vs. no alerts. I would vote to remove beginner and normal difficulties. Also, should "no alerts" also include the rule of "no civilian kills"?

i also agree on removing beginner and normal levels for the same reason. and i am happy to see a new no alert category opened since i happened to have recorded several runs on that standard.

Oh, so I will be forever the owner of the World Record on Easy and Normal Kage-Sama Camp. I understand that these categories have been deleted since nobody seems to run on it, but I am sad that I can't anymore see my results ^^"

about no alert run for level 5 lord yabu's estate, i want to submit my run but since alert is inevitable(i think...) when killing yabu, will any run submitted for this level be rejected?

Massachusetts, USA

@hydewx If there's actually no way to kill him without alerting people, then there can't be a run for that category indeed

You can beat mission 5 without alert by killing him near the exit and finishing the mission before the alert. It's a bit silly but possible.

finally i got a way to trigger no alert, i think it's a bug because enemy killed also counts zero...

Serbia

It's not a bug as far as I know. If they don't see you doing it it will not count in the end screen. Tea poison is a better example... but shuriken that you left behind is a little suspicious ;)

@makvasic haha, tea poison death also counts zero killed and zero body discovered? i don't remember. if it does that would be ok.

It sure does... we did ghost run of that level by drowning him, so it's sure possible to go with 0 alerts and 0 kills... Of course mission target is a must so it doesn't count. Same thing is in last level and Kanazawa if I remember correctly.

@hydewx I don't know if you got "no alert" in the screen after beating it, but near the end where the alert music plays seems like an alert

New Jersey, USA

@Mhmd_FVC it's like an alert effect and seems to be automatically triggered by his death along with reinforcement rather than direct witness of his death and is omitted by alert count just like the death count i think.
