so i requested a category extension board for mudrunner and it got rejected for not being active when it has had new runs submitted and accepted today
@Walgrey the email doesn’t give me an option to contact the person who declined it. It just says it was declined and a reason
@AlexisDR mudrunner is more of an IL run game then doing all of the different levels in the game in a single sitting. It’s just how speedrunning went with this game.
Thing is, speedrunning is about to become more casual for this game since it was free 2 weeks ago. I don't understand why there is an activity limitation for a simple thing like adding some categories. Even if only a single runner sees room for improvement, things should be improved instead of blocked.
Nobody is blocking categories. You could always add them as misc.
See this thread linked below for more info on why Category Extension boards exist and why there are stringent criteria for allowing them in exceptional cases.
There ist literally no reason why the moderator of a game (which probably knows the game and the ppl best) has to beg for a freakin second table. This micromanagement just annoys everyone who deals with it. Lets make things better
To summarize: The site's current policy is to save category extensions leaderboards for very popular games. (This is because adding leaderboards costs the site.) Since the site moderators rejected the category extensions, the next step of action would be to ask them why it was rejected. If they continue to reject the request after consideration, then runs that would have been on a CE board can be added as Misc. categories, meaning they'll be on the site anyway.
There's no need for anyone to be outraged here, since there's already a solution.
You can contact them by social media, there is also a messages part of the site too.
This page lists the site moderators:
Interesting, the speedrun.com's official API has roles for trusted and programmer but no users have them, so yeah, many users has a specific role: user, moderator and admin, so yeah, if you're not into coding, you can see the list of site moderators as Pear mentioned before: https://www.speedrun.com/about
