Will All Forts will come back to main?

I was watching this category and I think is amazing, so I was wondering if is going to come back to this place.

Category extensions (https://www.speedrun.com/smb3ce) can be great too!

For now we don't have any plans of moving All Fortresses back to the main leaderboards. The community also seems quite divided on where it belongs and without a clear majority we won't make any changes.

Good answer. is there a thred where people explains why it belongs or not belongs?

tbh i think the issue more or less was it never shouldve been moved back without proper clarification.

Oh I totally agree with that. I'm not sure how active All Fortresses was before it moved, but moving it to CE definitely didn't do it any favors.

I feel all forts took a big hit when the wrong warp was introduced into the run. The wrong warp can be intimidating for new runners. Would it be possible to have separate categories? I Understand this would be a pain for moderation to work out. Maybe new runners would run the old route and could move to doing the wrong warp after being more comfortable with the game in general. Just a thought cause all forts is a great category.

Sure, I guess All Forts No WW could be a category extension if there's enough interest for it.

As it stands right now, we'd be dividing an already small category if we did that. There's also the issue of which one would deserve it more to be on the main board (WW or noWW). It can also be confusing for others if two versions of the same category are on different boards. I'd rather use subcategories or add a column for Wrong Warp (yes/no) and have both versions together on either main or extensions.

I do agree that the wrong warp can be intimidating for new runners, but there is a routing guide for the old route which should alleviate that. I think it's a bigger problem that people can't be competitive in that category without going for a trick that can just straight up crash your console if you make a tiny mistake.

I like the idea of sub categories. Similar to OOT where they have 100% srm and then a tab for no srm. Two different categories would be to much confusion.

Also, where is the love for 1 warp. Not saying it should be moved but it has just as many Submissions as all forts. Don’t ppl wanna be doing clips and playing 7-4. :Kappa

In cases like this, it might be helpful to everybody to make a variable for WW under the category. Players who care to compare their times to other No WW times may do so using the filters, as it would even show obsoleted runs by players who eventually beat their No WW time with WW.

brocis 1 warp can take a hike honestly. 7-1 isnt too bad. 7-6 can eat crap and die, and even if that works out 7-9 usually doesnt. and if by some odd chance 7-9 works the hands dont. i feel like that category is an even bigger slot machine than warpless

1 warp actually stinks. All you do is you take noWW and then add the worst world to it lmao. Who doesn't love clipping 7-1, playing 7-4, clipping 7-6, playing 7-9, 7-F2 AND 8-F and get screwed by hands after a combo of not 2, but 3 autoscrollers! One of the worst CE if you ask me.

So what is the conclusion on this topic? Is there going to return?

Texas, USA

i like this idea and i think we should make this a main category with the future runners of the game just putting it out there

There's also the issue of the logistics of moving the category. The new administration of SRC will not help mods migrate categories to a separate leaderboard as it was done in the past when Pac ran the site.

I ran into this when moving a Lost Levels CE to the main leaderboard. I had to manually create the category on the main leaderboard, resubmit every single run individually on behalf of the runners, fill out all the run data, and approve it. After that I had to go through and delete all the runs on the CE board and then delete the category to clean it up. There's 61 runs for this category (obsolete runs included) posted. Doing that 61 times is...less than enjoyable and the chances of making errors are fairly high.

maybe after a few years when the category starts dying and only small runners come in to this CE you can move it to main category and hopefully have all people in the right place?
