New 131 route

I've thought of this route idea but I thought it had been timed before. Basically, instead of grabbing both wall badge and triple badge in the beginning, you only grab wall badge at the start and you grab the triple badge once you revisit overworld 2. The main timesave from this comes from the 64 extra seconds it takes to grab the chuckya and bring it up to the top. However, the lack of a triple jump causes timeloss in overworld 3, and you need to go to overworld 3 before revisiting overworld 2 as you need the ultra badge and the green switch to complete overworld 2. I thought that these timelosses were too much and that grabbing the chuckya would be faster. However, with making no mistakes on either side, not doing the chuckya clip is a whopping 3 seconds faster (https://gyazo.com/3551133ce32941205b9c291ca0e3205a). However, I feel that this new route could be slower, as the 3 seconds could've been minor mistakes, and also I didn't consider the decimal position, as when I started this, I thought the answer would be much more clear.

Here's why I will run with the new route over the old route, though: 1: The old route is only faster if you get the triple jump for the star "Fake" in FC first try, which is inconsistent 2: If you mess up the chuckya clip somehow, either with getting light chuckya or dying after the clip, you lose over a minute and your run is dead.

I posted splits for this new route in the resources section on speedrun.com

Actually, I'm pretty sure this is faster. Getting overworld 2 reds is around 4 seconds faster if you get them from b2 instead of from frozen caverns. Because of this, it seems as this route is around 6 seconds faster https://gyazo.com/f414c4655bffade136646cf46c97e716

Wait, I forgot the 100 coin star in MSC required the triple jump. I'm going to check if I can 1: Get it without triple jump 2: Get other stars in place of it.

EDIT: I found a way to consistently get the 100 coin star without the triple jump. I'll post a video in here later.

one last reply I promise: It's faster than I thought because you can reset right when you get the green switch which I didn't account for. EDIT: I decided to time it and it makes this route 5 seconds faster than it was for a total of 11 seconds faster (it takes 10 seconds for you to get out of the void but it takes 5 extra seconds to reset instead of save exiting out of course 12 as done in previous routes.)
