Freeze Issues with Nestopia

Hello folks !

Sorry for making another post about emulator issues but i'm making this thread after reading through dozens of threads about similar issues with Nestopia without finding any answer to my problems, on this forum and other forums too.

I've been playing on Nestopia for months now, but since a few days I have small freezes, almost imperceptible when playing casually, but those small "hiccups" make speedruning almost impossible

I play on the latest version of Nestopia, and never had any issue before

Those freezes disappear when I turn Vsync On, which is fine for casual play but adding too much input lag for speedrunning smb1 I tried so many things I'm now desperate to find an answer, I closed any software that could cause trouble, installed Nestopia 2 or 3 times, tried different ROMs, changed a lot of settings in "video" and "timings" but nothing changed (or it changed but it was worse)

I usually play in windowed mode and had no issue with it before, so I tried to see if it was better in fullscreen and freezes remained + tearing was very ugly. My computer used to run nestopia perfectly fine in window mode and I have a powerful computer so I can be sure that I do not lack power to run nestopia or any other 8/16 bit emulator (and as I said it used to work perfectly few weeks earlier)

I was wondering if anyone had similar issues and how did you fix it ? Also it would be very nice is someone could show me which settings are you using on Nestopia!

I already tried to change the settings of my monitors (I tried on two of them) but nothing changed so I think the issue comes from my PC or the emulator. I also tried other emulators but had issues setting them up, resulting in too much input lag or small freezes on Bizhawk and FCEUX

i've been looking for answers for hours and am very sad that I cannot speedrun mario on that emulator anymore so any help is very appreciated! even small advices! Thanks in advance and sorry for my messy english

One thing I did that helped the issue with my old laptop was setting Nestopia to high priority, but the problem lies in your monitor being able to handle NES's framerate.

I had the same "hiccups" when I played on my 60hz monitor. After I got my 280hz monitor, I never had any real lag in NEStopia.
