I was looking for some ideas for some games that are pretty relaxing and don't require too many difficult tricks. Max time would be like 2 hours and min time probs 20-30 mins. Thanks do your suggestions!
You've described a lot of Game Boy games there, honestly. Do you like puzzle games? Word puzzle games? Or RPGs?
You like Shadow, clearly, as you've run that a few times. But what other games do you like?
Platformers are easy to learn, but difficult to master.
Forma.8 is a simple metroidvania with chill music and a slow fluid movement. You control a floaty probe exploring a planet. There aren't any major glitches. It's on PC and current consoles. The run is about an hour.
Thanks for the replies! I guess a platformer sounds more like what I’d be into. I definitely prefer PC as I have a friend that wants to learn the game with me and he doesn’t have a PS4 or Switch like I do. I was thinking about learning Shovel Knight since it’s not too long and I enjoyed the game normally. I’ll definitely check out Forma.8. I would just prefer something less stress inducing because Shadow of the Colossus has to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done lol.
I mean I know I pimp Hue in every thread asking this question, but.....relaxing, platformer, PC, hour~ish in length, mostly movement based (warpless category).....yeah, Hue. https://www.speedrun.com/Hue
The Harvest Moon speedgames are relaxing to me. No battle system, just a peaceful farming game with just enough RNG.
Harvest Moon is a great idea.
Shovel Knight sounds like high stress if you wanna get a really good time. There are people that pour hours into that game! ...but I definitely would recommend something in the farming category like Harvest Moon. That's smart. What about schmups?
Harvest Moon for SNES or Game Boy is definitely a good choice. If you want a little bit of platforming fun with a bit (heavy) RNG, Kirby's Dream Land is the bees knees.
New super mario Bros Wii. The fastest time is about 25 minutes and I can usually finish in under 35 minutes. Simple controls.
Tempted to say Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, sub 2 hours is a thing (if you know the route that is). Imo it's relaxing but that might just be me.
Otherwise, Densetsu No Stafy is pretty relaxing (any% glitchless atleast, wich is 50 ~ 1h10 long i'd say), and so is Initial D Gaiden (racing game that's very easy to pick-up, controls are really simple, ILs are really optimized in general though, also if you try it out make sure to go into the option menu and enable musics first, otherwise you'll probably end up with a headache, also, story modes can take up to 20mn at most i'd say).
