SNES super famicom or the mini SNES?

Here's the rundown of the options that you have.

  • Original console + CRT TV. This is generally regarded the best setup for speedrunning and is the most responsive to your inputs. However, since you're in Europe, getting a console and a CRT that are both NTSC may be difficult or expensive unless you willingly want to run on PAL which is 17% slower and has different physics. Also CRTs are large and some people don't have the room for that. This again is considered by many to be the best setup, but it's also the biggest pain to acquire.

  • Emulator. We accept runs on several different emulators and is perfectly fine. Many top players do their runs on emulator. There will be input lag that you may need to adjust to.

  • Wii/WiiU Virtual Console. The framerate is slightly slower on these platforms, so while running on these is perfectly fine, just realize that you're going to lose a bit of time over console/emulator. There's input lag on this as well.

  • NES Classic/Mini. We currently do accept runs on this, however, there have been some questions about what the framerate is. It is definitely slower than console, but not sure how much exactly at the moment. There's input lag on this as well.

I advise you to stay away from clone consoles such as the Retron consoles. They are horribly inaccurate and runs are likely to be rejected by using those. Save yourself some pain and dismiss those, in my opinion.

Also, realize that you will need a capture card for all of those options except for emulator. Well, you can point a webcam at the TV (and we do have a few who do that) but it's not recommended.

Early-flatscreen TV's are a good alternative to CRT's. They don't have much input lag compared to some CRT's and take up less space :D
