issues with elevators

hey guys, I started running Dishonored any% this week and up until tonight everything was working fine, I was/still am running 1.2 made the allowed .ini edits and was having a blast. I went to do some practice tonight and when I go to set up the elevator after the empress cutscene and sometimes when I setup the elevator in the prison (I'm still using the older elevator there) it seems as if I'm getting stuck on textures, I'll hold S and A or S and D respectively and I won't move at all. anybody have any insight as to what's causing this?

Sounds like the problem you can get with too high fps where walls become sticky. What fps does your game run at? In the .ini edits, did you set bSmoothFrameRate to FALSE or did you keep it TRUE and just changed the MaxSmoothedFrameRate value?

I set the smoothframes to false. what's the best way to display my in game FPS? that would make sense though since while I stream I would presumably have drastically lower fps than while I'm playing offline

I set the smoothframes back to true and limited them to 250 and everything is running perfectly again! thank you for your help!

If you run the game through steam you can use the steam In-game FPS counter, otherwise there's a lot of options for software (dxtory for example). I would personally recommend changing the bSmoothFrameRate to true and change the max value for the smoothed fps to somewhere around 250, though you can play around with it yourself if you still find yourself getting stuck too much.

Fps in this game can be annoying form time to time, the higher fps you have the faster/higher elevators you get and faster blinks and easier clips but it has some drawbacks, like sticky texture and getting stuck in lean animations. So keeping the fps fairly even is usually the best choice :)
