How would this category work if it were added? Would you have to start new file and do the B-Sides as you get them or would it be accepted to just do all of them from the level select?
Since IGT is used a run that starts from a completed file would be a little weird.
An idea brought up was to use the unlock all cheat code, there would still be the handful of seconds of inputting that included in the start of the run but I think that would be the most elegant solution.
Here's how you do it: Enter the prologue and immediately run left to the room with your car. Without leaving this room, enter the following inputs-- Consoles: Left Right LT RT Up Up Down Left RT A Keyboard: Left Right Tab Z Up Up Down Left Z C
We could allow that cheat code for an All A-, B- and C-Side category and put all of them in miscellaneous. Don't think something that uses the cheat should be a main category.
yeah they would for sure be under misc. but as far as I'm concerned the current all A sides that requires the 4 hearts that few run is enough, doubt there would be much demand for one that's just pure any% strats
So, I've decided: As long as I can find a friend with a capture card I can borrow (I've got a buddy who I think does), I'll hopefully get up a B-Side speedrun ASAP. Been running through levels this past week or so to get them as tight as I can. It'll likely be super sloppy, but I'm hoping it'll encourage some others to try it too!
@seckswrecks: Is there a way to do the B-Side of the Core with a new save file? Otherwise I guess that'd have to be left out of a run, right?
Everest had one of the biggest updates so far with Everest Core becoming the "Stable" version. Here is what you need to know as a player and what rule changes are happening:
To put it in layman's terms, they're updating the game to use a newer framework. Which
