Does anyone know if talkatoo can say painting moons (at any point, idc if it’s after peace, post game, or never)
From the footage I have seen, I'm not sure, although it could be because you should find it on your own, but it only takes one slot so it's not bad unless you have two impossible slots. Although, that shouldn't softlock you (Pre-peace) at least.
My understanding is that he will never give you painting moons before you get to the credits (beat Bowser at Moon), but after that he can give you the painting moons.
Having done a Talkatoo AMNPG (All Moons No Post Game) race, I can confirm that he will not give you painting Moons before the post-game. However, I can't confirm that he will give them to you during the post-game, as I have never tested it.
Tippi (formerly known as Timpani) may be the guy to ask about that, as he has done Talkatoo AM before. Or you could painstakingly comb through his 12-hour VOD to see if it ever happens.
Talkatoo only suggests moons from the kingdom you’re in, and won’t give you stuff like painting moons to get because you haven’t unlocked the kingdom to get there yet.
I can 100% confirm Talkatoo DOES NOT mention painting moons BEFORE POST-GAME, but he DOES mention them AFTER POST-GAME. Obviously in the respective kingdoms. (Secret path to NDC is a Metro moon, so the Metro talkatoo will say it, not the sand one, even though the only intended way to get to the painting moon is via the sand painting.)
