Knife Strength Question

Hello everyone, this is my first post here. I haven't been able to find this information anywhere, so sorry if it has already been asked/answered.

I'm curious about if/how knife strength differs among the different versions of RE2. I'm currently working on Leon A Knife Only No Damage Any%, using Dual Shock. I have been using toshihito's run as an early reference (he is using Biohazard 2).

On the Bus, it takes him 10 knife hits to kill the zombie on the floor: However, on Dual Shock it takes 24 hits in my experience.

I'm wondering if someone has any information on how knife strength differs among versions, or if there may be a knife trick I don't know about that is resulting in the faster kill.

Enemies generally have more health and deal more dmg in the US version compared with JP.

I think Furry would be able to handle this one.

No differences between versions, zombies have various health. For example, usually you need 3 shots to kill zombie on the floor, but sometimes it takes 2 or 4 shots

United Kingdom

Zombies have random HP, same as in RE1, can be as low as 24, upto 95+. IIRC, Knife does 7-8 damage to zombies, its one of the two. I'll try double check later.

This doesn't alternate between versions. They're all the same, if you get unlucky you can get high HP zombies back to back.
