Hello everyone I started trying to speedrun a few of my favorite games about a month ago and I think I'm finally ready to start timing my runs the right way (I have been using a stop watch app on my phone ) I just bought a computer and the internet will be all hooked up by Monday. In the mean time I would like connect the computer and my console to record and time my runs. However I literally have no idea what I'm doing any info or recommendations or links to helpful videos or websites would be much appreciated. Thank u all . -NeverLucky

Well, which consoles are you thinking of capturing? That's where to start really. There's a lot of different options depending on what you're looking to capture.

Hi

Well, if you want to record runs you'll need a capture card, wich one depends on wich console you plan on recording, so we need more info to help with that.

Otherwise for PC games, or if you want to record both the game and the timer, you'll need another program for it, i recommend OBS Studio, it does all that and you can also use it to stream (wich is actually the main feature i'd say).

As for the timer, if you want one on PC, you could go for LiveSplit, however if your pc can't handle it a good alternative is WSplit.

@geomelly It depends on how frequent the activity of the moderators of the game. if they are very active maybe the same day. but that already depends :p
