IDEA / CONCEPT - It may be possible to do K4 early on single file if we can find a way to keep Garunde Te event from completing, and enter the K4 Shrine (via mem-leak/glitch-loading the door)

Solved Pieces:

  • Enter the K4 shrine early (via glitch loading)
  • Escape Garunde before the event completes (this is easy, just run away while Tricky solves it)
  • Enter K4 without Flame (This can be done via the Dark/BvqR K4E concept, but mixing it with Garunde will be hard)

Unsolved Pieces:

  • Find a way to enter K4 Garunde Event from completing. This may be possible if you load Garunde, but keep moving the camera OOB (in under 3s)

I found an RTA viable Garunde cutscene skip, but it fails to set the "DIM unlocked" flag, so it softlocks.

By feeding tricky after the bar fills (this is a large window, easy to do), and then mashing X while holding forward next to the load trigger, you can unload Garunde.

I forgot if this was posted before. You can save/quit warp to do CC early a different way, but I think it's like 20s slower

There are many levels with OOB ledge grab triggers floating above or below them.

It turns out if Fox touches them, he will cancel his swim, grab them, and can pull himself up to the nearest surface

I have not tested if this works with void walking yet

Single-File can do DIME too, because we can potentially finish the SnowHorn Challenge with shield/GQ hovers

However you need to do the hovers in under ~37s. Single-File can potentially do GQ hovers too by getting GQ with cam-lock.

Not super interesting, but by spinning the camera after doing a DR GrubTub dismount, DR reloads

This can cause a few effects:

  1. Nothing happens
  2. Soft-lock / crash
  3. CRF files load, causing massive lag

In theory it may be possible to do a stale mount pointer manip to hit the save triger passed the high top gate, but it would probably be TAS only.

Can temporarily skip the bomb spore patch dialog.

I think this was being done by accident in runs sometimes, but it wasn't documented

If we could entirely skip the dialog in TTH, it could be a small time save in void travel route

We can skip using fireblast in IM

No known uses for this trick. It may be v1.0 only, I thought I tested this on v1.1 and it didn't work...

Apparently saving on the same frame as cutscenes, and having your save location in a different loading zone can cause significant problems:

The cause of this cutscene void is due to the WarpStone being unloaded, which is used during the Arwing cutscene for Dinosaur Planet in TTH Act 1

This also works if you save/quit to MM pass after killing the 4x sharpclaw, or before talking to the queen for the first time.

No clear time saves yet.

Can use the glitch above to do other weird stuff.

By changing your save trigger to the Shop, you can save/quit after fireblast to keep the Warp Stone unloaded, and do some weird stuff. It seems not to have any use.

I found a way to reach K5 in WC2 without placing the sun and moon stones or starting an airswim. This is faster than using an airswim to skip collecting and placing the sun and moon stones, but due to how precise this is (and the fact that there's a much more consistent RTA way of doing this with an airswim), I doubt anyone's actually going to risk losing a run on PB-pace to this trick. As such, it's probably TAS-only.

Taking damage can cause the EarthWalker in DR to start tilting, so if you get damaged on a slope you can flip. Then just spam attack to continue flipping

This was done in v1.0, haven't tried v1.1

Edit: Actually it looks like JubJub62 discovered this first, but I never realized that the flip in his old video was from taking robot laser damage.

Idk if any similar ones were posted so I apologise if so, just thought I'd help document some random SFA bs lol. I had so much more random, unexplained at the time, jank happen to me over the course of running this game, but unfortunately I seem to have not kept recordings of most of them. One of those I remember was the room in Volcano 2 with the lava, moving fire platform and coloured switches not loading correctly, as well as the room before it.

Anyway, it's really cool to see all the shit you guys have found now. The game is finally looking as broken as I always wished for it to be, even more so actually. Can't wait to see what more yous can find. :)

And another glitch, it appears we can use the color transform cutscene as a temporary cam-lock. This can be used for Queen EarthWalker Skip 2. Cam-lock is faster though, so this saves no time:
