Favourite Song and Why?

What's your favourite song, and why do you like it so much?

Mine is After The Watershed (Early Learning the Hard Way) by Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine:

The lyrics are about child abuse, and so the writers gave it lots of child-culture references, an almost childlike melody, and loaded it with wordplay. I think it's a mad tune, the lyrics alone are great, but the actual song it's self works very well too, and is catchy as fuck. It's genius to me.

Here's a bonus clip of the song, at the end they beat up a (very young) Phillip Schofield: The twat deserved it tbh.

So what's your favourite song, and why?

Isn't there already a thread for this?

From what I can tell, that thread is just posting a song. My aim here was to post your favourite song and why you like it.

United States

You can still post why you like your favorite song in the other thread, too. Just because it doesn't say that you have to, doesn't mean that you can't.

Essex, England

That's very poor logic. If a there is not a thread for something, then what's the problem with making a thread for that thing? Rather than misuse an existing thread.

You're picking at straws here, and you aren't explaining your favourite song. So leave it.

United States

My original point was that there was already a thread for this. Nothing on that thread is stopping you from explaining why you like a certain song.

But hey, that's just my take on this. You're free to do whatever you want.

Other side of the screen: I've played this every time I got a new friend, a follow, a subscriber, you name it. I consider my friends very valuable. Probably more so than your average person? That sounds kinda rude but you get the point.

Waving through a window: Just listen to it, you'll know why. Yeah I've been through this and kinda still am to some extent.

Car radio: The screams in this song remind me of what I had to go through when I was... Yeah.

Sparkle: I use this to relax a lot. It's gotten me through some rough stuff lately.

Wishing: Sang it to Sarah :P Important moment in our relationship ok?

I recently discovered this song while browsing /r/PostHardcore. I've never been the most poetic person, so I couldn't accurately describe the emptiness I feel inside. The chorus sums this up perfectly. Feeling like fire is in your blood (panic) and water is in your lungs (anxiety). These 2 things prevent me from doing much of anything out of fear I will cause myself more pain. "I'm lost right now, as the ocean deep". I don't know how to escape this reality or if I even can without ending it all. I feel trapped in my own head and often wonder if it's even worth it. I heard this song on the Buddhsim Hotline and I genuinely can't get enough of it. I've been listening to it for 2-3 years now. It's probably the funniest song I've heard.

Hardstyle, Mainstream hardcore or anything similar. Here's probably my all time favourite song. It's simple and got the banging bass that I so love. Goes well as a background music for gaming:

I also work on music myself too. I released this song fairly recently and I'm working on some more which I hope to upload soon :)

@Backspaced sorry for the late response but some of the extreme ones are as follows Great song, seems chill but it gets pretty intense. Of course, I have actual hard music like... These are all mixed from Trap Metal to Extratone. I listen to everything. xd

@WereisTheWolf Wow, you weren't kidding when you said that some of your song tastes were extreme! Speedcore obviously doesn't like to play around.

Anyways, here's some of my own extreme picks:

  1. 2:12. Enough said.

  2. Song is brutal AF from start to finish.

  3. Caught me off-guard the first time I heard it.

  4. I'm always a sucker for halftime.

  5. I never needed eardrums anyway.

If anyone's interested, I can share out some of the softer stuff that I listen to as well.
