Hi.

I casually play 150cc and 200cc Time Trials.

When I keep track of my times, I always differentiate by character and part combinaisons I use because I don't want to compare times I'm not equipped the same.

Do Speedrun.com Mario Kart leaderboards should integrate such distinctions, in your opinion ?

If you want to post your time to go mkwrs.com ( but it has to make it on the leaderboard)

I think Nolcolem is suggesting separating the speedrun.com leaderboard by kart build. Is that right? Speedrunning is about going as fast as you can, and if you use a combo that isn’t optimal then that’s your choice. I don’t see any reason to separate it out. The leaderboard is complicated enough as it is. :P You can always keep track of it on your own if you’d like, though.

That's what I meant. The mindset I have is: if Super Mario Bros.:The Lost Levels has a Mario category and a Luigi Category, why not Mario Kart ?

I'm not suggesting a change. I'm just questioning. ^-^

I don't see how this would be a good idea. Like pianist15 said it's your choice what combo you choose. It's your fault if you don't choose the best. That's also part of strategy when speedrunning Mario kart, which kart is the most optimal for this cup. There is so many combinations of karts, it would just be basically useless. If yo u want this because you use a slow vehicle than I would recommend using a faster vehicle. You don't want a fast vehicle in mk8d though. I would recommend dry bowser biddy bug azure roller and paper glider. In a game like mk7 though you are gonna want a fast vehicle. Like metal Mario bdasher red monster wheels and beast glider.

I think it'd be hard to implement a kart combo selector in the run submission page, much less applying a filter that recognizes the hundreds or even thousands of different combos this game allows you to pick...

The easiest way to go with this is to simply type out the combo used at the start of your run description. I used to do that some time ago and it felt like a nice way to let people know right away what combo I used during that particular run.
