Tool assisted/macros question.

I am interested in starting up runs with this game on PC. I use a razer deathadder mouse and would like to know if these are allowed or if i should change the mouse or disable the buttons and change my keybinds.

I have Grenade set to T. I have Super set to X. I have Melee set to C. I have the two side buttons set to melee and grenade. Clicking in the scroll wheel is my super.

Also due to seeing the rule about not using the scroll wheel to use ingames exploits and things I would to see if these keybinds would be allowed. Scroll down is class ability. Scroll up is Select Power Weapon.

Thank you all in advance for any help and advice.

Same here I like this game because it follows a unique story which makes it's more playable.

I personally use mouse 3 (Scroll click) as my grenade. I'd like to know more specifics about this rule too.

I would say if it is not specified in the rules whether a keybind setup is allowed you should be fine as long as you don't use the keybinds for what is specifically banned, but you bring it up to the mods in the discord for further questions. I linked this thread to them in mod chat, so hopefully they should get back to you guys.

Oh also all keybinds need to be able to be setup in game

Scroll wheel is singled out from other buttons or keys (on keyboard, mouse, or controller) due to the fact that it allows the user to register multiple inputs in rapid succession - faster than the user would be able to input those actions if they were using any standard button or key. The intent of the rule is to prevent using scroll wheel in situations where quick successive inputs would give the user an advantage in performing that action over someone who is doing the same action with a typical key or button.

The most common in-game action where quick successive inputs gives the user an advantage is when scroll-wheel is bound to "Jump" (titan skating, etc.). Some less common unfair advantages of using scroll wheel involve binding it to "Bring Out Ghost" (to perform ghost skips faster) or binding it to "Fire Weapon". Typically any in-game action that requires the user to hit the same key/button twice (in rapid succession) cannot be bound to scroll wheel.

In regards to the specific questions in this thread - "Class Ability" and "Switch to Power Weapon" can be bound to scroll wheel without violating anything I mentioned above, as there is no benefit to inputting either of those actions in rapid succession.

Scroll Wheel Click acts like a standard key or button and does not offer the same benefits that the Scroll Wheel itself offers, therefore it does not matter what in-game action is bound to Scroll Wheel Click.

Let me know if I need to clarify any further - cheers.

That sums it all up for me, thanks Bert!

Sorry it took so long to reply but yes this sums it up all nicely Bert. Thank you very much.

United States

I know this is very late. But does this mean that I can't set up my dpi on my mouse because it can't be done in-game

yes you are allowed to change the dpi of your mouse. Any software or hardware that manipulates your network connection and any macro's are banned. Scroll wheel for jump is allowed now as well.
