Found a potential glitch I witnessed while experimenting with pausing. This needs to be looked at further...

Wait so you just literally skipped a whole question of the quiz? That's insane. I also had experimented with pausing before the quiz on all the levels (that's how I found the KK glitch), but in MM and ToT I just thought the pause just remained there, but didn't actually do anything. It seems by looking at your video that the glitch happens if you unpause after answering the first question, but sure I'll look further into it to confirm this. Also keep experimenting if you want: Maybe unpausing it at another moment makes something different? If the glitch works it can absolutely be used for speedruns. It might save around 10 seconds, which is a lot.

thats awesome man. this could for sure be used and it looks pretty similar to the skip pullmatrox did in kk. but since this went unnoticed until now it feels like this same skip could be used for other levels just with different timing. but nice, keep up the work man. also i feel like this little game has grew since level leaderboards were added, since it no longer feels too intimidating to new players to have to do a full run.

Yeah, we got a lot of new players since level leaderboards were added. It was a great idea and the game grew a lot thanks to it. Short and simple categories make it more accesible for new players.

As for the glitch, I gave it a few tries myself doing exactly the same that MisterPat did in his video, but couldn't trigger the cutscene skip. I think it doesn't have to do with pausing, but I don't know what could it be. It might be because of lag, but I'm not sure. Do you remember if you did something during the level that might have activated the glitch? Were you able to do it a second time? Was your game lagging? Idk, but there's something else to the glitch besides the pause thing, so we need more information. If it ends being because of lag, then it's going to be a lot more harder to do, or even maybe impossible or heavy RNG dependant.

I have been trying to re-trigger the pause glitch with different results. I don't really know how it ended up with a skip but I am still looking into it. If I do eventually get it again, i'll make a follow-up video or post (possibly showing how to do it). (update: just triggered it again, but I don't know what causes the glitch.)

Yeah, keep updating us if you find out how to do it consistently, or if you find any potential new glitch.

I don't know if it helps, but in your video, at 0:21, you can see the internaut grabbing a block and then suddenly it appears falling from the sky. The glitchless cutscene would be just him falling directly. This means the glitch already happens as soon as you enter the quiz. So it might not be just because of pausing, but also by something else done before entering the quiz.

Also, maybe you could record a video of the whole level? So maybe we could see if something that you did somehow created the glitch. I mean, if you keep getting it and can't figure out how to do it, maybe we can notice something that you didn't.

I have an update. I was able to perform the glitch consistently but there is one downside. I only found the glitch to work only after you complete Tower of Treasure. However, I am still experimenting to make the glitch work before completing the level. On my stance, this glitch can be done in runs of Tower of Treasure only, but not yet for Any%.

I'll upload a raw video of me glitch hunting in Tower of Treasures hopefully later this week.

That's interesting, there might be a way to make the game think you are replaying the level, maybe by restarting? There are definitely a lot of options worth experimenting with.

Also, there's a discord for the game now, so maybe you would like to keep sharing the glitches there? It's more comfortable than using the speedrun.com forum posts.

Either way, great find dude. This saves around 15 seconds, so it would be great if we find a way to use for Any%, but still it's great that it can be used for ToT individually. Good job.
