In SMB1 in 8-2, could you save time by pipe jumping where you usually have to slow down to clear the pipe?

You actually can, and it's one of the techniques needed for the 8-2 framerule save. It's just so difficult there's no reason to go for it under normal circumstances.

only faster if done really well so its not worth it. also it doesnt save enough to get an extra framerule so its kinda dumb.

So far, Taven Webb is the only person to be able to save the framerule in 8-2 in RTA

It saves at least a couple-a few frames over the normal method It saves a framerule if you do fast accel, this pipe jump blant jump perfectly, and perfect BBG on the perfect framerule.
