Hello friends, I went to update my description with a link to a higher quality video but because the only way I could do it was by editing my run, it got deverified and now I need to wait for someone to verify it again. Clearly a description shouldn't change whether or not a run is verified at least in my opinion.

You just answered why that can’t be done - you submitted a new video link. Even if it’s just a higher quality video of your same run, it has to be re-verified to make sure that the new video adheres to all the rules.

Regarding descriptions, requiring reverification is also to make sure the user doesn't put stuff in there that might be unkind.
