Level looping (and dashing during level loop) explained?

Look for a better controller plugin that supports dual shock.

Yes, I got it! I found a nice setup with another pad plugin. Now I have my analog sticks working fine. I also have my d-pad pumped up, so that now they make Dan instantly run too and I can only walk by slightly pressing the analog stick, but it's okay, since I got the dash during the glitch at first try. Thank you so much for your help :D

Oh, almost forgot. About the door that NoobKiller finds open at the end of the level loop: I find it closed like Jacobo, but I managed directly enter the room with the two demons at the end of the loop a couple of times, actually saving some time. It's not consistent, yet, but as soon as I get the right timing I'll let you know. Now it's time to grind the second glitch of the level.

Edit: also, turns out it's not a framerate problem. I can get the glitch running the game native 50 FPS with no issue.

Yes, I tried again yesterday and had the same experience--closed door, but was able to jump in the room. Thanks for the followup!

My pleasure! It's so hard to get inside the room, though. Looks like you need to push a little more towards the wall, but I keep falling off the roof.

You can also level loop to the crown room itself, but i dont remember where its at.

That's cool, but I have no clue either. As far as I remember, the rooms in Haunted Ruins are not physically connected; you just hit a trigger and get teleported, which mean the trigger could literally be anywhere.

They are, theyre just rooms outside the normal map. I extrated all of the maps before in a model viewer, which allowed me to figure out things for a tas that I was working on ages ago.

Oh yeah, I saw those extracted models too. It's technically fascinating :)

I know in haunted ruins the rooms are scattered around the level, one on the right, one on the left and one behind the throne room.

Ohh that's interesting. This is new to me. Have you ever looped to the throne room before?

Basic tricks

Inventory glitch is as simple as: [select..... select x2 > flick analog] Effect: pass through death barriers, stall cutscenes

Level looping is: [inventory glitch > hold circle + direction > close invent to begin moving] Effect: fall from the sky to whatever position you desire, provided you can find a setup to make your way there

analog to run off = move at running speed while falling, can dash DPAD to run off = move at walking speed while falling, can't dash (never needed)

Use analog to run off, then you can switch to DPAD for more precision if desired.

There is no need to jump anymore when performing a loop.

Misc question

In Haunted Ruins the setup lands you high on the building, but is more consistent. Then run down and jump into door seam to clip in. The door is only open when you exit from within the room.
