Hello all! I've been watching the GDQ marathons since 2013 and I want to take a crack at BK (Also nice run at AGDQ Stiv). This is not the first game I want to speedrun. I also run Ape Escape for the PS1.

I've played this game a lot in my childhood and I have previously tried learning this game for a speedrun and I always found it extremely difficult. I have watched the Banjo-Kazooie 100% tutorials and got a lot of help from that. Is there anything else that can help or is there any more advice you can give on beginning runners to this game? Maybe possible older routes I can learn just so I can get a handle of the game before I jump into the fastest route?

If you are planning on learning the newer route with Furnace Fun Moves (which is easier in my opinion), there isn't a complete written route of it to my knowledge. I have just watched a variety of runners and made my own messy notes that I follow while doing runs myself.

To learn the new route with FFM I'll probably just have to watch other people run it. What I probably need to do is just do runs and play the game a lot to get the tricks down. I'll be sure to watch more videos and practice and you should see a run from me in not too long. I am trying to push for a sub 50 in Ape Escape before I move on to a new category or game so it might be a little bit but I'm sure you will see me in a few months time.

Does the BK community have a discord or a skype group or something? I know the Ape Escape community has a skype group so I was wondering if you guys did.
