Blindfold%?

Hi guys,

This is my very first post on this forum, and it may be one of the crazier ideas but it's just a bit of fun - I'm based in England and as I work in hospitality, the current lockdown has given me a lot of free time on my hands.

With all this free time, invariably I've ended up watching lots of DarkViperAU's videos on Youtube and have also come across people trying speedruns of various other games while blindfolded, and it led me to wonder - has anyone ever tried to complete GTA blindfolded?

Of course, the answer is 'extremely unlikely' if not a straight up no, but it's got me interested to see what regulations would be put in place if someone was to try it as if it were an official category.

Firstly, I think it would have to be completed as a pair - one person blindfolded at all times in charge of the controls, and another person not blindfolded guiding them through it, but of course they're not allowed to touch the controls at any point.

As it would take a long time to do, with lots of mission fails, I think you should be able to pause and take breaks every couple of hours, stopping the timer with the stats page showing and then resuming with the identical stats page showing.

What other regulations do people think should be put in place?

I'm genuinely interested in attempting this for a laugh with one of my brothers for Youtube or something like that - am typically not a streamer or particularly active on Youtube or anything like that, but I do think it'd be great fun to try and am sure we'd have a laugh doing it :D

Do let me know what you think, and hope everyone is all good!

Sounds like a fun thing to try out but I doubt anyone wants to sit through the entire game doing this. It will certainly not be a category on this leaderboard. You could try suggesting it to the category extension leaderboards, but they don't just take every idea either + best to run it first, then submit. But again I don't suggest doing the whole game like this, it'll become frustrating.

sounds like a pain

I feel like it would be extremely difficult to do because GTA's physics would probably deny any kind of consistent setup you could use to orient yourself and navigate the world. I think GTA also just has way too many time-sensitive missions that would be near impossible.

Does sound really fun, but for speedrunning there would also be to think of how to be sure he doesn't see through the blindfold, which is probably hard to achieve. And playing the whole game like that, would be enormous, you could maybe try doing it on Trevor%, it would still take massive amounts of time but you could maybe do it in under 10 hours

United States

I'd say a trevor% speedrun in blindfolded would take around 2 hours if you really knew what you were doing. Something like a 100% run would truly take like a solid 15 hours due to the sheer complexity it would be
