i am new to speedrunning and need help. i am not being able to understand how to upload my clip from my ps 4

You can't upload your videos to speedrun.com site directly. You need to upload them to a video hosting site (YouTube and Twitch are the most popular), and then post the link to the video when submitting your runs.

The PS4 has native streaming capabilities. Stream your runs to twitch -- make sure you enable VOD saving, it isn't enabled by default -- and highlight the runs you wish to submit. Do not submit Past Broadcasts, since they are deleted after 14 days. Submit highlights, which are segments of your Past Broadcasts you trim to the relevant parts.

You essentially have five options:

  1. As EmeraldAly says, you need to either stream to Twitch and HIGHLIGHT the run to get a Twitch link to submit

  2. Or what I do is stream to Twitch then download the run, crop it in editing software, then upload it to Youtube to get a Youtube link to submit.

  3. What you can ALSO do with a PS4 is use RemotePlay where you can play your PS4 on your PC.

You can then either Screen Record with OBS Studio or else 4) you can stream your PC to Twitch and follow the steps above, except now you can add overlays etc instead of the default chatbox the PS4 stream shows.

  1. You can use something like an Elgato but I've never used them

Hope that helps.

@PatrickSpeedRuns: you need to log into your twitch account, go to Creator Dashboard and choose to highlight the video you want.

what if you don't got a twitch account?

@ZachPlays_YT please try not to bump really old threads. But you should use another platform to livestream, or upload your video onto a file/video hosting service
