I think this is a much easier spot for runners to split and would lead to more consistent final splits. I know it likely won't be an issue as far as times are concerned but I think it would feel better.
I may not run the game currently, but I think the timer ending on the boss health bar being completely drained is perfectly fine. A bunch of games have the final split end on last input, and I feel like this would be the same thing
Though the rule on starting split should be a bit clearer - you can select your character but still need to confirm afterwards to start the game. I think that split should start then instead
My line of thinking is it's simply an extra thing the runner has to think about that's unnecessary, since you can mash through the results screen and splitting on a black screen is easier and requires less effort than keeping track of exactly when the boss's HP is at zero. I ran The Messenger and it ends on final boss hit but that game has an autosplitter which was really nice.
Edit: Though I guess if an autosplitter were made for this game it'd be set to split at boss HP 0 anyway. Ah well just a thought.
Although I don't think I'll run the game I have to say at minimum I'm liking what I'm seeing from the game so can't wait to see more people running the game. Also if I were to suggest something the frame where the final results screen appears seems like a solid idea as it feels sorta like a hybrid spot between last hit and fade to black. Don't know if there's any time in between the two events happening but sorta has that Castlevania type spot where it's on orb grab if you get what I mean.
Again don't know if I'll run the game or not but I do plan on picking it up for the switch so figured I'd throw in my 2ยข as a fellow speedrunner.
As a follow up I'm assuming there's not going to be separation between hardware unless something is found to be console exclusive.
yeah unless we find out a discrepancy between consoles, any console ran is fine.
I tryed only April so far and i split every time her mic touch the floor, that's easy to track I belive there is same "spots" can be found for every character
