Can someone help me put the timer with the video itself?

So, I have terrible quality videos and I don't care because they somewhat turn out to be good and also I am too poor to buy a $140 Wii U capture card. So, here is the question:

I have the recording the speedrun down, but how do you insert the LiveSplit timer into the video? Any recommendations? Like, you see the stream, and on the side, you see the timer, or at the bottom, you see it. So how do you insert it? Like I said, I don't have any fancy gadgets. Just a phone/tablet camera (or two) and a tripod.

If you don’t have a capture card, getting the timer on screen adds an extra step. You need to take the video file off of your camera, phone, whatever you record with and put it on your computer.

Once it’s on your computer you can use Broadcasting software like OBS or XSplit to build a layout as if you were going to stream. This will allow you to add the timer like normal, but instead of adding video feed from a capture card you’ll add the video file of your run. Then you can playback the video and time it. You can either stream it or local record it for uploading to YT.

Unless having a timer on your PB video really matters to you, the hassle isn’t worth it. For longer runs it can be annoying to do this for every run so you’re better off just submitting the video as it is. As long as you have the timer running during the run you’ll have the time for the submission.
