So this started as a meme in a YouTuber’s community. It was a joke for awhile, but we’ve started to give this category some life. Basically the goal is to die to the Grindel that’s found in Shifting Sand Land. It starts like a normal SM64 run. Time starts when the new save file is selected, and you have to die to Grindel. Time ends when Mario takes the last point of damage. We’ve been discussing and think that there should be a glitchless Grindel% for people who choose to run it or their platform just can’t. (SM3DAS) What do y’all think?

we've theorized it may be faster in both glitchless and with glitches to take near-fatal damage to torches in the basement before entering SSL
@gr3atj0b You are correct. I did some experiments and burning twice on torches does save about 7 seconds.
