@morelan The original idea is to have Console inside 60 Tab. Creating a PC/Console could be a solution for what u came up with (i dont wanna lose my bracelets and stuff), so you will have ur records/pbs on the Console tab (not competing with PC players) and we still have everything in 1 page.

Morelan, this is also a concern I had as we begin to look at the next generation of consoles coming out within the next year and we will most like see 120FPS on the console. By looking at and problem-solving a solution now, we can tide off any potential complications later. I feel as though the best method is to look to the community of active speedrunners, refining those solutions to be practical but beneficial for everybody, and finally having the mods execute that decision. If the workload is too much, then pulling from members from the community to help is also a good option.

I recently moved from base console to pro console and there is a very real, obvious disadvantage between the two. Continuing to keep them together with this knowledge seems incredibly unfair and I would be remiss if I did not speak up about this.

As you pointed out, I am in agreement that by sorting them by FPS rather than PC/Console can minimalize the disadvantage between those running against each other. Very cogent reasoning.

@Michelle_myBelle i agree, if 120 console happens in the future, well, we deal with them there. Its really just by moving console inside cats and not making a cat out of it.

Suggestions like these have been brought up so many times in the past. The way the boards are set up now are a result of hundreds of people coming together and agreeing on separating the categories as you see them right now. Some people weren't happy, and some people were. That's just how it goes. You can't please everyone. If we were to do another round of major changes, where hundreds of runs needed to be moved to a new category, and new variables, while also leaving one of those Variables (Console 120) completely BLANK, it better be for a good reason. Is putting PC 60 and Console together even needed? IF so, then explain why. Is it going to benefit the entire community? Is it something that many people will come together and agree upon easily? The boards have been set up this way for MONTHS, and it's worked out pretty well. Why make such major changes now? Things like these need to be discussed over a long period of time. I hope you understand the point I'm trying to make here.

Again, I ask, who are these hundreds of people you guys talk about? It's always the default answer that it's been discussed in the past, but we never get to know who discussed it.

The hundreds of people who have ran the game since release? The ones that would post on the forum every other day, asking for the leaderboard to be changed? People who gave great feedback and discussion, and then people who just acted like spoiled brats asking their parents for toys? People who decided to run the game, because they like it a lot, and people who decided to not run the game, because they didn't get their way with an arbitrary leaderboard. There were so many people on these forums every day going crazy over this game. If you weren't here for that, then I don't know what else to tell you, other than that. If you wanna privately message everyone the leaderboard and ask them what they were doing on the night of the great leaderboard change of RE2 Remake, be my guest. We're mods, not detectives.

If suggestions like these have been brought up consistently, then that should indicate that there may be a systematic underlying issue.

What I am attempting to point out is that how the boards are set up currently are not fair. If the difference between separating PC into 120 and 60 were based on a disadvantage; then that difference should also be reflected in 60FPS Pro/1X console and 30FPS with base.

A solution that has been proposed is using FPS, thus disregarding the platform. For example, 120FPS, 60FPS, 30FPS. Thus by doing so, would result in combining PC and console for 60FPS.

I believe that fairness is a quality that benefits the entire community.

We are attempting to discuss it now- but it feels as though you are attempting to suppress the conversation rather than elevate it. I understand the hesitancy and many of the challenges that may come with changing the status quo, but this is a discussion that should be happening now (thus giving sufficient time as you pointed out) to determine the best course of action. Especially with the 120FPS new consoles coming out soon.

Me not running the game has nothing to do with moderating it. I run a ton of games, and still know plenty about this one to have moderated it since the very beginning. I'd suggest just letting it go, instead of acting like a moron.

@Michelle_myBelle I'm not suppressing it, I'm bringing up pretty valid questions as to why any of this is needed. I personally feel like putting PC and Console together isn't needed. Putting people who use M+KB and completely change their keybinds with multiple uses for one key, against people who use controllers with set binds? That is already pretty unfair. No matter how good you get with a controller, you cannot compete with that. Just look at the top runners for PC 120. Their inputs are insane compared to the inputs of controller players.

I would also like to bring up the fact that completely deleting NG+ is just unnecessary and achieves nothing, other than deleting months of hard work. No reason for that at all. Also the CE boards may not be as well known about, but is that all that matters? Giving it exposure? Run whatever category you want and OWN it, even if it's not on a board. That's what Crazygamingdayz and I did when we were first running Knife Only.

Of couse I do, I think supermods should be people into the community that are up do date to what's happening on the game, or at least able to have a chat without being dismissive or condescending. Anyway I am done, keep killing this game with your terrible decisions, I'm tired of banging my head against the wall.

" (EDIT2) The main thing here is that we have 3 cats getting 6 slots on main page cuz PC/Console thing when it could be just tabs and open these slots for other cats and maybe if ppl see these on the main page they will know they exist and start running them."

In short, we might be able to bring more ppl with a more simple and stacked board and make ppl who is already running the game run other cats too. Its not certain, like i said to Yossy, its just a suggestion, its cool, no problem.

And NO, i dont wanna kill NG+, like i said to morelan, i thought we only had 6 slots on main page, so if we needed to kill one to put almost everything there it would be it. In understand yall and like u guys can see its almost the first time im using this forum (tbh i just keep running the game and dont think about everything else) so i didnt know if things had been brought up before and i hope you guys understand my side too.

@IgorAlmeida, Bringing CE categories to the main board guarantees nothing, in terms of activity. Also having a PC/Console variable would lead to 120 Console variable being a completely blank default sub category. It's not that I don't like the suggestion, but I just don't see it being a need. I understand what you're trying to go for here, and I appreciate you taking the time to write it up, but I'm just not on board until this site has a better system of handling more complex leaderboards. I'll gladly keep my eye on this forum post for more discussion though, as I would be swayed if enough people were truly supportive enough to make this a need, and not just a want.

So, it sounds like there is going to be a disadvantage either way. And personally, I think the discrepancy between K+M and controller are minimal when juxtaposed the discrepancy between 60FPS and 30FPS.

Perhaps I am incorrect in that assessment. However, my evidence for that assertion is by looking at the leaderboard. Controller-only Pro/1X WR holders compete successfully with K+M on 60. Whereas if you look at any console leaderboard, the WR holder is without fail a Pro/1X compared to a base.

Let’s look at Leon A if we combine PC/60: Leon A Standard:

Yes, I believe it does matter. The work that NixIssues, CrazyGamingDayz, Speed Idol, Darksha as well as the other numerous Knife Only and Handgun Only runners do are worthy of just as much exposure as any other category. Having them on the main page rather than some supplementary page would illustrate how important they are to the community.
