No, since the game simply gives you more tasks.

What even is that argument? It's not as if as soon as you finish all tasks, they instantly reset. There is a screen that pops up as soon as you finish all the tasks. What else do you need for it count as an ending? Do you need a cutscene and a credits page with inspiring music? What matters is that there is a clear interruption between the end of one game and the start of another.

That just seems like the same as saying that any story game shouldn't be speedrunnable "because there is the option to just start another game".

If you stick with the argument that it is short/trivial, I'd understand; depending on the maps, the runs would be around the 5-minute mark (even though there are shorter speedrunnable games, all it took was a quick google search - https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/r1392/1#76yj3 ).

However, the claim that there is no defined ending simply comes across as subjective and not a good justification overall.

This was already over my friend, they aren’t adding Among Us and they won’t change that.

The "shorter speedrunnable games" isn't an argument as has been brought up countless times since the freaking rules have changed for what games are accepted and are not applied retroactively. Additionally, you're still completely ignoring the fact that Among Us is fundamentally PvP.

Rules were also different a year ago. While, you made Among Us speedrunning PvE, the entire game is still based off PvP content and that won't change. Among Us actually has its own community-ran leaderboards and its own community Discord for speedrunning. I would suggest checking those out if you really want to submit your times.

What if you don’t have discord? I’m just gonna say I’m not allowed to have discord

Among Us' Freeplay mode is a single player mode meant for you to practice your skills but the main game would not qualify for speedruns because of the multiplayer factor. This is highly similar to Rocket league (which is on speedrun.com) where the main game is PVP but there are speedruns for training. Also similar to minecraft where the game has an end screen which goes right back to gameplay this thread describes this as follows: 'this is an endless game mode with no defined ending' id recommend looking more into the freeplay part instead of brushing it off with a half of a sentence. It is very fun to speedrun and has lots of potential. Examples of freeplay speedruns: and

  1. Rocket League was probably added before rules got stricter.
  2. Minecraft is the best-selling game in the world, and isn't short/trivial.

There's really no point in reigniting this discussion again. The decision is already finalized.

I requested among us freeplay too but they said “freeplay content is too short and simplistic for us to consider adding a leaderboard for it”. Here’s the link for the video (I did it with imposter role instead) .
