As per the comment made by jim miles on my segmented run regarding getting a boost from solid objects and finding a little bit of time for myself, I had a quick playaround in-game and recorded some footage of this for reference. Can be useful for both single and segmented runs.

Oh cool. Thanks for that. I couldn't understand how a non-solid object could boost you, but I guess not all garbage cans have the same properties.

Not sure if it's viable in any kind of run, but I'll definitely test it.

If I recall correctly, a lot of the game props' physic properties were removed during the Steam updates to the game because they were more troublesome than good. The can that I was playing around with probably was missed out when they were removing the properties.

I can imagine that you could use that can to boost you on Wednesday so you can go to the voting station then back to the trailer for the sewers, I haven't really much time to do proper research atm though

I just tested 1409 and 1413 and it doesn't seem there is any difference in physics properties.

Anyway, I can get the boost very consistently. It's actually very easy. Just roll the garbage can to a certain speed, stand in front of it and if you hold forward, the can should accelerate you as long as it doesn't get stuck. The crucial part is the rolling speed. It doesn't work if it's rolling too slow. I think you also don't need to hold crouch.

It can also be used to propell yourself upwards. Push the garbage can into a wall you want to climb, hold forward while pushing it, and simply hold jump. I haven't tested the maximum height, but average size house with flat roof can be climbed very easily, so there's definitely a possibility for a shortcut.

Oh neat, I figured I was onto something when that can was lifting up when jumping. I completely agree that we can find ways to utilize these props to enhance the run but I'd probably say this also warrants searching for any other objects in the game with physics properties and if we can abuse those too.
