I think we need milliseconds...

The game have millisecs only for user created levels and not story mode levels.

Also using IGT for ILs is the better way to track them.

I feel that IGT is a terrible way to track the times, well yes, it keeps it consistent, it also makes it so that a person who got 59.99 seconds will be tied with somebody who got 59 seconds. IMO the timing should start when you hit start when you select a mission, this way, it's still really consistent and you don't have a 10+ person tie as easily. IGT was most of the abandoned by other games when the timer just wasn't cutting it anymore, like how it is for this game. It will be to the benefit of most to switch to RT.

even with rta, ties can happen if peoples do the level perfectly (yeah less than igt timing but still). That's also mean we need to retime 100+ already approved runs, wich is kinda unreasonable imo. We're not lazy to retime them but think about that.

Also I'm not against made changes on our boards but why we need to consider your request if you aren't a part of our community ?

Because I'm an unbiased 3rd party, meaning I have a default view on the situation

Also, I didn't make the request, Frozen did, I was just backing it. And we can keep the old runs, you just wouldn't be able to have WR with them. And the point of this is to make ties actually be ties rather than a full second, not to remove them completely.

Maybe we could have a separate leader board, because a lot of people on IL’s record with their phone or something like that. Imo I think that would a better idea than having just one leader board, and having to use something some people can’t use.

Several people brought up points which make this a bit more complicated than just switching the timing. All runs currently submitted would be invalid until retimed (It was said they can be kept as is, but that just isn't true). Second is that most runners currently submitting ILs do not have the means to actually time their runs (a lot of phone submissions and built in 30 second recordings). With that being said it is important for the feedback of those currently submitting ILs (not discrediting outside sources, but as with most things people usually don't post to say they like something, and it affects them the most as they are the ones currently participating in IL submissions).

I actually quite like how there are a few levels where anyone can get TWR, and then tons of levels where you can actually get UWR by performing better than anyone before you. If runners gave the feedback that too many of the good ILs are optimized to the second and thereby dead to them, I'd prefer to first look into adding more and harder IL categories like All Big Coins or No Powerups.

Not having the stuff to do it is complete utter BS, there is free editing, capture, and timing software for mobile devices AND Any computer, and they are pretty low power, so it would only take a little bit more effort to upload a run. And this free software is most of the time half decent for it being free. Yes, people would have to take a little time to learn how to edit videos, it shouldn't take too long. With this, we could safely change to RT.

Heck, in the rules, if this gets switched you could link some of the better choices, IDK what they are, I just know they exist.

The reason Metroid and Pokemon switched was generally caused by A. The timer is jank(SMM2 doesn't have this, but still putting it here), and B. To be more accurate. And you don't need a capture card(Also a quick google search and I found one on Amazon for $17) you can just use your phone if necessary. There are also Twitter/FB video downloaders which allow you to get them to your editing software. Edit: Good =/= Working

Ok, maybe switch to RT when all the people just going for the one shot runs leave(About 6 months prob)?

yeah, lets talk about that again at a later point of time. For now, i think we should keep IGT.
