Hey all,

While I was recording a short tutorial on how to do GBJs (will be up tomorrow, I can hardly talk right now), I accidentally discovered a couple of things in the tower:

One: There's a breakable block in the bottom right corner of Crumbling Sector. Two: Its probably frame perfect, but you can jump on the breakable blocks right before they break.

Now what does that mean to us? Well I managed to record a quick video showing what I mean by all this:

Basically, there are two GBJs that you can do in the tower, that seem to save in total close to (now this is just a guess) 1-1.5 seconds. The first one being in Upward Sector, you can just jump onto the ledge instead of going around the other way, and in Crumbling Sector it is possible to GBJ from the beam onto the block that the blue beam would normally connect with and bounce off that block to skip having to do the jump on the blue beam. Plus, if you break the blue beam block while you're going up the green beam then a recovery from there is easy.

I don't think this has been posted yet, nor do I see people doing this, so I hope you guys get something out of this! :)

Those GBJs are known - just considered high-risk, low-reward. Elmle uses the Upward Sector one. Abbys uses the Crumbling Sector one, though I haven't seen the jump off the breakable block! Abbys does a boost jump off that same block.

Nice work nailing those, though! It's definitely worth a couple seconds if you can consistently get both of those!

I was aware of the GBJs, but I didn't know you could jump on the destructible rock in Crumbling Sector. I usually just boost off that particular block. You can see that in one of my old runs:

Here I also destroy the blue block (in an inefficient way) to have a backup in case I had failed.

In Upwards Sector I never go for it anymore. I used to, but for most runs I would lose time rather than gain time because I would fail it 1-3 times. For a very optimized run it's the way to go for sure though.
