Hi, I thought of a new possible way to catch splicers in rsg - if we ask them to send their logs file of a run after submitting it, we can see precisely everything that happens in a world, including when they leave the game. As far as I know there is no way to manipulate it without changing the file type, so determining a fake logs file shouldn't be too difficult.
They already put mandatory streaming for the top 5 to prevent splicers from beating the top
if you can manipulate it by changing the file type you could simply change the file type back when done, no?
yeah i found out it could be manipulated soon afterwards, but I discussed with a few others and we were thinking of maybe a mod that instantly sends the log files after a run? idk yet, maybe we could implement this to willz's speedrunning tool
I just realized maybe people can show the statistics "time played" right after the run like how we have to show the seed right after it. If the "time played" is much more or much less than the time shown on the video, then it's most likely spliced. I'm not sure if that can easily be manipulated though...
@Seanomunyango, I don’t think people would splice the parts of the run, there are only 2 spliced runs I know and both are a set seed, where the loading screen was spliced.
