Hey. Earlier today 2 of my runs were rejected for "Game audio cuts out. In order for the run to be verified properly, game audio needs to be present for the whole run."
For Tabletop Baseball (and I assume other tabletop games) Tv Audio stops once the game is started. You can see this in Gamingland024s run as well https://www.speedrun.com/wpu/run/zg77rlez which was verified despite having the exact same audio "issue". I believe the only way to record the audio is by directly recording your gamepad.
You're absolutely correct that the game audio cuts out under normal capture circumstances and your previous run + @GamingLand 's other tabletop runs do not have audio during the gameplay yet they were accepted as runs in the absence of other comparable runs.
However, one of the most reliable ways to verify a run is through audio and it may not be an easy fix for most people. The part that makes this difficult is that your claim is beating the WR set by @WillRec20 who had audio during the whole gameplay.
So in that case...
Paging @WillRec20 or anyone else who may know:
What is the best way to have audio recorded for this? If it's not easily attainable, we may have to go on the honour system and allow an exception for audio for GamePad categories. My apologies in advance @Wipeoutjack7 , but if we can't find the easy fix, we'll use your new WR's.
I haven't heard from @WillRec20 and I haven't found a better solution to the audio issue, so I'd say resubmit the run.
If it becomes a contested category, then it'll probably have to go back to audio+video required.
