If you want your people to follow rules, you should make it a requisite for signing up to agree to them, like most sites I visit
If you sign up an account you're already agreeing to the ToS and rules of speedrun.com, making it a requirement to agree to the rules is such common practice that it became obvious to agree to the rules when signing up on a website.
So do you read the terms of service every time you sign up for something like PayPal or eBay, and every time they update them?
I don't use eBay so I wouldn't know but for PayPal I did read the rules before signing up with my account, and I occasionally check to see if they update them too. I don't know why you'd ask such a question though because sr.c is nowhere near PayPal and eBay in terms of the size of the company, and it's not like sr.c update their rules every week or so. All you have to do is read them once and you should be good for the rest of your journey on this website.

At least you seem to be trying to be an upstanding person; continue.

i just want to say it would be less political if the site would have made a space which can be filled with custom text for important info for the runner instead of pronouns. (people might want to mark which games they moderate or where they have WRs etc.) we wouldnt get people starting those discussions then when people fill it with (game mod) (pronouns).

also just realised rules are hidden in the support hub, bad move should be its own tab at best.

Nice to see that users can now get banned for expressing opinions that admins don't agree with

Also the Bavarian flag isn't displaying, might wanna fix that
He was probably banned for trolling, but I have no way of knowing that for sure.
Nah I doubt he was trolling, he had a few points. Even though he was mostly wrong I didn't wish he'd get banned but too bad there isn't a muting feature or something (or getting banned just on the forums).
I don't know what internet you've been using for the past decade, but that's always been the case. He was probably banned for trolling, but I have no way of knowing that for sure.
Oh I know it's been the case, but on a site this big you normally don't expect it to be so blatant. I can understand people not agreeing with his views, I certainly don't agree with everything he said, but he wasn't going out of his way to actively insult anyone over it imo, nor is there any evidence of him discriminating users because of his views. As for the trolling, fantastic, lets go ban users from submitting runs to leaderboards because they made a troll forum post! By that reasoning my account should have been permabanned a year ago. (Not a jab at you, but at the admins)

@1 Just want to let you know that Bigotry in general (being either a racist, transphobe, homophobe, xenophobe, sexist, ableist... one or more of these) isn't an opinion, but yes hate-speech and it's considered a crime in many places. If someone's banned for either of those things, especially in a place where people from minority groups exist, it's very well deserved. Arguing against the people that take action against bigotry is not really the hill you want to die on.

I don't recall him saying anything remotely transphobic, just expressing the fact that he believes there is no in-between when it comes to gender, and gender is one of those things that doesn't really have a set meaning that everyone agrees on so it's something that actually can be debated unlike someone saying "I don't believe homosexuality is real"
New account, registered today, literally first action (within the hour of registering) is a post on this very thread basically mocking pronouns, after which they repeatedly do so. Clearly a sock account. You'd have to be naive not to think that.
Just because its probably an alt/throwaway doesn't mean its a troll. If I was going to share some of my views on some topics in these forums I would definitely do it on an alt just to avoid all the ensuing shit being thrown my way for the next 6 months.

@1 yeahhhh... but did you look at his first post? "Gender is not a flimflam word, it was literally put in place to designate how one GENerates life, in a male way or in a female way. No others and no in betweens, those are the only ways human persons are lawfully generated."

i dont care about transphobia and other intollerant things to see if somebody is trolling.

this is a so bad strawman (its so wrong i wouldnt even call it that honestly), there is no other explanation than shitposting.

but i would agree if somebody would come and post their actual opinions on this stuff they should use an alt.
