Version differences

I have a PS3 disc version of DMC. is it slower than the PSN download version or is it the same speed?

France

Hey UhTrance, PSN version is really faster than the PS3 disc version, about 2 min. Here is all version, fastest to slowest: PSN < PS3 disc < X360 < PS2 NTSC < PS2 PAL

But march 13th will release another HD Remaster Collection for PS4 and XOne, but this time and finally on PC too, I think it will be the fastest version.

Yeah I just remembered that after my post. i'm going to run this on steam/PS4 and it looks like a lot of fun. thanks for the answer

Update: New HD PC version is faster for certain sections of the game. Only slightly for in-game time, but a lot in real-time. I do not have the PS4 or Xbox One version, so I have no idea if those are faster than PSN version.

Now this game hit steam im really interested in running it. Just to confirm, is the PC version faster then the PSN version? Also, may I ask if the game is faster in Japanese? Thanks.

Here is the main difference with the steam version, all loading time count (between two rooms, opening inventory), like the PS2 version, but, if you are using a very fast SSD (M.2 NVME), loadings are inexistant or almost. I think this version is faster than the PSN version, but not a lot, maybe 30 sec (1 or 2 for each mission). Maybe later if Capcom want to unlock the framerate up to 120 it will be very faster.

Saiyan, this is the forum for DMC1. Not 3.

Yami explains it pretty well here. Even without an SSD, it's pretty quick. Real-time is much quicker but In-game timer is only slightly affected. As for unlocking framerate. Capcom don't really tend to do stuff like that, unless it's a part of the official release. Never an update.

Also, Yami's auto-splitter is recommended if you haven't already ran with a real-time timer to track your pace.

Makes sense. That's fair, I just don't want Symm to be confused.

Thank you for the responses @maxylobes @SaiyanGaming420 @0_yami_0! Has anyone ever thought about doing a video tutorial/guide for this game? I know its not necessarily needed.

A tutorial would be a good idea actually. I got to phantom and it always took me forever to kill him. I tried watching runs but I couldn't get any consistent strat going.

I've been meaning to make one since last year, but have yet to do so. I simply haven't had the time, and there weren't a whole lot of runners interested. Now that the re-release of the HD Collection is out, I should probably work on a tutorial on my off days.

Feel free to hit me up on the Discord for any help you may need with the Any% Normal run!

I finally just test the Dante Must Die dificulty, and sadly, there is a big diference, we can't do the large skip during the mission 17, so this is about 1m30 slower than PSN version, because the steam version is slightly faster in normal, this is maybe equal to the PSN ver. in DMD, I need to test some runs.

Thanks Capcom...
