@Jubilee Are they JayPin88 and Cytruss? Because if so I believe they're some of the people at the top of the formerly existing "Most Games Played" list. They'll run a short category of basically every game they can find to keep boosting their numbers.

Bad frame rate is a good reason to reject a run, if it makes the video unverifiable.

@Oreo321 I personally would have rejected it, but one of the other mods saw the run first and verified it.

I'd have sworn I was watching a PowerPoint slideshow rather than a video

I've had people submit runs to Cuphead that were literally 1 frame a minute, feels bad rejecting new runners but T-T gotta do what you gotta do

Well someone tried to cheat in the Clash of Clans Speedruns multiple times on multiple SR.C Accounts :D

And someone once submitted a run for Call of Duty to us,wich is kinda weird. How do you mix up Call of Duty and Clash of Clans?

On a DS emulator run of Dora Saves the Mermaids, they clearly ran the emulator at double speed, resulting in a time that was almost twice as fast as the WR. Description of the youtube video called the mods some choice insults.

This just in, someone submitting a meme as the WR.

Edit: They DM'd me, asked why I rejected the run, and then realized that they put in the wrong link.

I just remembered another case. https://www.speedrun.com/gbt/run/z09833jz

So some background: The game I'm talking about is Grey-Box Testing, which was made for a game jam with the theme "intentional bugs". The gimmick of the game is that you have to exploit glitches in the game to progress to the next level. One of these glitches is to use moving platforms to clip through a wall.

One day a runner submitted a run that was over 7 seconds faster than the world record at the time (the game is only a 1 minute speedrun, so we knew something would be off) and it turns out they only finished half of the game. My guess is they got to the wall clip puzzle during a casual playthrough, and since there isn't any visible place to go from there, they just assumed it was the end of the game and did a speedrun for it.

It's still weird though, because the making of video (which got like 4 million views on youtube, which is why the game got so big) literally explains the wall clip puzzle, and there is narration in the game which doesn't stop and also slowly gives hints the longer the player is in the room, so how he didn't know the game had more content is really strange.

Old, but i did encounter a racist idiot on etdo for spam submitting rickrolls to etdo (since I'm a former verifier for that game now)

I can recall 3 that stand out.

A troll submittion which had for the video link something that I can only describe as a some sort of a youtube spanish court hearings highlights compilation???

Two run submittions which had a discord server link for the video link, which once I went into was sure enough, a server with just one other person and a single channel onto which the vids of the runs he did were uploaded.

There was also a person who out of nowhere submitted a top time with a description sarcastically teasing at the run being cheated, which we found out it was, lol.

Actually just now I remembered a more recent one.

Someone made a 100$ bet that they could get a run on an src leaderboard in one day and it just so happened that the person chose a board that I moderate. Whilst I was on a week break from due to a computer issue..... As a result I could not verify his runs. He joined the discord for the game on which I hang out with an alt during my absence and so I was able to talk to him as he realises he's going to lose 100 bucks due to my break!

But that's not the end, one of the people in the server suggested that he may try submitting a fake run to a board that supposedly has had automatic verification. In which way he would technically get a run on a board. He did that, but in the end the run was manually reviewed by a mod and reported to site staff due to his account being brand new and submitting a troll run, resulting in him getting temporarly banned from the site. LMAO At this point I'm back, verified his runs and he eventually got back on the site and been an actual active runner ever since. But that one was a story to remember.
