Who is working on breaking this game?

Bamboocha, that's exactly what I meant, and I was thinking of doing that for just about every event, not just the ones that are currently used for sequence breaking. For that reason, I would also want to include whatever is required for that cut-scene or event to play.

An example format would be: Column A: Cutscene/event description Column B: Cutscene/event location Column C: Item/state requirements Column D: Tricky Required? (Y/N) Column E: Result

I'm just wondering if having that data laid out in a systematic way would be helpful in generating new possibilities to try. Matches between Column E and Column C could be helpful to see laid out. That said, since you all have a pretty comprehensive knowledge of the relationships between events already, maybe it wouldn't be of much use.

If you mean like a glithc list or some shiz I think GnS has a google doc with the documented glitches

If thats what you want I can link it here

Also, we have to give some credit to the developers of this game lol.

I haven't been able to test anything new myself for the past month or so, only those things I mentioned. If I can get some emu testing done this weekend I can post more findings and try to emulate that pseudo cutscene skip I accidentally found on more than one ocassion.

Berlin, Germany

I tried the airswim to cape claw but the loading trigger is too low to activate it and there are actually even two triggers down there at the same height. It could maybe be possible if you use the water level from the sewers but I don't even think you can get there like that. The other thing is, even if it was possible I don't see anything we could do with that. Even if there was a way to get to the Ocean temple, we would still have to get out without placing the 2 gems before. Just with using moonjumps there, I couldn't even get the way to the ocean temple to load but that might generally be possible.

I think a spreadsheet like that would probably only be helpful for people who are new to glitching the game and wouldn't necessarily be worth the effort.

The biggest potential in my opinion currently is the camera glitch where you can get the camera stuck. As far as I remember this allows you to skip save warp spots but also skips loading triggers. I'm not entirely sure how it works but there could be potential save warps and maybe cutscene skips with it, but it seems like cutscenes generally activate anyway.

What pseudo cutscene skip did you find Narbe?

Venezuela

Is there a way to consistently trigger that camera glitch?

also the skip is more or less just have an action input in the middle of two cutscenes. Example: when you're gonna get a cheat token, you get a cutscene, very brief still period, then pick up cutscene. If you do a staff input on that precise still period you can cancel the upcoming cutscene. I did that by accident on my gamecube, but i thought it was just the game not loading properly, so i shrugged it off. But I managed to do it again, on lightfoot village, after the cloudrunner explains to you what to do, I managed to cancel the upcoming minigame thing + cutscene, except i did that on emulator, so no wrong loading there.

My idea was to tas the shit out of that, since seems to be a frame perfect thing, since the frame window for you to do something is veeeeery minimal. If it is indeed a frame perfect skip, it would be like, run killer

Berlin, Germany

I forgot all about that but that exact same glitch happened to me a long time ago once and I couldn't replicate it. I will give that some TAS testing as well.

The camera glitch is very easy to get. I will test that a little bit to give an exact explanation.

Venezuela

You know what would be great? I think the water level in the cave that leads to that krazoa gem is at a decent height to reach the exit, hovering doesnt trigger the cutscene, which means the trigger is the ground and probably below but not above, if we could use that water from the cave to clip oob and do some oob airswimming towards that exit we could just drop down and grab the gem.

EDiT: I must say, that after a very belated test, Moon Mountain Pass 2 doesn't really exist, and in fact, if we skip the trip to Volcano 1 completely, then once we head to Volcano 2 the door leading to the temple interiors will be locked, and the game will be unbeatable lol, since we can't open them. So that first trip is necessary and getting the Krazoa gem without Freezer Blast would only end up saving like an extra min or two. So for now I'm dropping this gem idea.

Berlin, Germany

The water level from the cave is a bit too low or too high, but I think it was too low. I tested that on emulator once with moonjump.

The thing Moon Mountain Pass is that one of the loading triggers is actually after you fall down in the wind elevator part before the 2 pillars, so basically in the center of that room. Evenair swimming high over it doesn't seem to trigger it and without being high enough it's not possible to get there while being OOB. One interesting thing about the Moon Mountain Pass gat is that it actually closes from the cutscene, so if we could somehow skip the cutscene, the door would just stay open.

Unfortunately the camera glitch doesn't seem to have any effect on cutscenes because they just check your location. Loading and save locations are to some extend effected by the camera.

Generally the camera glitch is possible to activate pretty much anywhere. You just use a ladder, wall or hole and feed tricky at the same time which results in the fox ass cam thing, which you can even remove again by pressing L, since the storage of the glitch won't be removed. Then you have to walk over some kind of loading trigger and you can activate the stuck camera by talking with someone or trying to feed tricky again. At some loading triggers the storage gets lost but I don't really understant that part completely but and since you can even store the glitch on another file it's pretty much possible to activate it everywhere if it's helpfult at all.

Generally it would be useful when we have to walk somewhere, get something and walk back while skippig the save locations on the way, to just save warp back. Unfortunately I couldm't find any places where this could be done.

I was testing that Cutscene skip a little bit and I couldn't really get to work for some reason but maybe I didn't understand it correctly. I tried it on the Lightfoot Village thing and when I activate fire blaster on the correct (it is only 1 frame), it just activates my fire blaster and I can shoot during the mini game but I don't cancel it.

Btw: I just got a 4:55 that I will upload later :D. Can somebody remove my old run from the leaderboard or link it to this account?

Venezuela

Don't use fire blaster, do a staff attack, hold the stick in any direction + a button spam.

Also, linked your old record to your account. You can talk to me directly if you want your new pb uploaded.

And congrats (=

I've seen that Google Doc, Narbe. I was thinking something literally in a database form, and including events that aren't currently glitched, for the purpose of doing find and sort functions. (In case it was helpful to pull up a list of every event in the game that will not activate without Tricky, then sort it by map, then sort it by SpellStone, etc.) I think based on Bamboocha's thought, though, it's going to be low priority. Congrats on sub-5, Bamboocha!

I forgot to mention this an eternity ago, but I got into that falling state while walking from ThornTail Hollow to LightFoot Village. I don't know if it was just a wrong loading or what. I had returned the first two SpellStones out of order; is it possible that certain areas registered me as on SpellStone 2 while others registered me as having completed it? The game actually played the subtitles for the cut-scene where you get mugged and imprisoned in the village as I fell into glitchy purgatory, so I guess it just didn't have one of the LightFoot models it was trying to call? I only bring this up in case something similar would be useful for maps that have multiple instances - any thoughts?

Edit: By "something similar," I just mean any situation where different accomplishments affect triggers differently around the game world, creating discrepancies in how far the game thinks you are. I definitely don't mean doing part of a ForcePoint Temple, then abandoning it to run clear across Dinosaur Planet. I guess my question, at its most succinct: is it likely that the game would overwrite some things if you accomplish an "early-game" task after a "late-game" one?

Venezuela

Well idk if im dumb right now since i need food, but I think that what you're talking about is part of the krazoa skip glitch, loading that cutscene that way so we can get lightfoot village back to its original state and get back into the game sequence since delivering the spellstone without the 100 scarab bag breaks the sequence completely and we cannot progress any further, that is if the glitch didnt work that way lol

Pennsylvania, USA

No, you're right - it's me that's dumb. Not everybody uses the subtitles on their runs, and now I remember seeing them one time when someone (maybe Usiku?) was airswimming back to CC. Which is why I didn't bring it up. In the month and a half since I saw it, I forgot that part but remembered my own experience. All that was different was that I was on solid ground.

Edit: Granted, maybe I'm still not remembering this correctly/remembering the right spot? For the record, the scene I'm talking about starts with that whole "Hey there, little fella" deal, and I didn't even get as far as the gate before falling through.

Berlin, Germany

You both mean the same cutscene and I forgot that it is actually possible to cancel the falling state there, so apparently only "real" cutscenes cancel it, but not something like picking up a new item or the fire cutscene from the gem.

Btw this route isn't actually necessary for the Krazoa 2 skip. The better way is to just walk into lightfoot village when coming back from ocean 1 and walk back out. This way it will immediatly play the second cutscene where you are tied to the pole.

There's one interesting thing I've found. I'm not sure if anyone else knows about it. It's possible to get an airswim off of 'R' shielding. It's a lot more inconsistent than the other methods. I was thinking that since you can't z target while in the camera glitch, using the shield to airswim could possibly work while still in the camera glitch. Just posting this for the hell of it.

Scotland

Yeah, pretty sure Narbe or Bamboocha documented that a while back. Cool, but yeah, not as consistent as the Z target or back walk methods sadly. :/

Has anyone considered using the camera storage glitch in means of getting the moonstone during the first visit to walled city? The only reason we can't get that is because of a spawn point by the entrance of the temple that keeps us trapped in there when we try to save warp after getting the moonstone. From what I've heard, the camera storage should allow us to bypass save warp points, but not bypass cut scenes or the likes. If this is correct, then we should be able to load the switch that activates the first temple puzzle without getting detected by the save point. It is possible to do camera storage in walled city in two places. One being the wall you climb up to get to super quake. The other being a ladder that you go up after getting the silver tooth. (although tricky is stubborn with following you around those areas for some reason) Tricky will also be there when you drop down into the moonstone temple, so you can do the locked camera glitch at that point. However, the spawn point still detected me as I went up to load the switch. Maybe I'm not doing it right or don't understand the storage properties completely. I don't believe there are any other spawn points in the moonstone temple. Hypothetically speaking, I'm not sure if the game will consider us at walled city 2nd visit once we obtain the moonstone. I doubt it since it doesn't seem like something that the game would do. Also, is it both the zoomed camera and the stuck camera that can bypass save points, or is it just one or the other?

Colorado, USA

Useless since we can't place the moonstone in while Walled City 1 is registered, but here it is.

Venezuela

Nice find. We still need both stones tho, and if we could place them on walled 2 without opening the underground entrance, we could save warp after that and save us a bunch of time methinks

I've looked into sunstone, and since the entire temple is at a higher elevation than moonstone temple, none of the three levels of water we are given can reach the load point. Airswim seemed to hit the load point for moonstone temple, but didn't hit the spawn detection. I've also tried clipping into the sun temple while still out of bounds. This can load the temple while being outbounds, but I can only get as far as before the portal door because one of the candle pillar things reach out past the wall, preventing me from making it across a corner. If I we to clip back inbounds and use portal opener, an invisible wall will be there once I open it. I can still hit the three switches in the sunstone room, but the invisible wall is still there after the cutscene. I'm really out of ideas for sunstone for now.

Colorado, USA

Nevermind, I found a way to sunstone early =P
