I would not feel bad about things like the alarm not going off, Jason getting away, etc, that's just part of this run. Sometimes Laura will be in the cabin in the 1st cycle instead of Crissy, nothing can be done to know in advance.

As far as I know there is no tutorial for this game.

Jason getting away in 2nd cycle is the main way I've lost runs. Once I fully learned the route, I focused on practicing the Jason fights, particularly the timing of the shots (You have to land enough shots on him, otherwise he will get away). I would focus on practicing the Jason fights on the 2nd and 3rd cycle so that when you get the right seed, and good RNG, you're ready to finish him.

You really do gotta mash fast, but you have to time it right and RNG is definitely no one's friend in this game. In my route when you start getting onto Day 2 and 3, you have to be careful to hit your 6th shot in each fight sequence and fire the 7th when you know you can land at least 2 more before Jason's off the screen, because he starts bolting on the 7th hit. On the 2nd and 3rd Days if you don't kill him on the 3rd fight sequence, the run is basically done. It gets stupid frustrating.

I find timing the throws better, there is a certain rhythm to it. And it feels easier with Mark/Laura in particular but maybe that's placebo. They do throw a bit slower and it feels like there's more control?
