I used it in my first ever speedrun I did, but I have a horrible time for different reasons, I need a pro speedrunner to check this out for me.

It depends on the category. This wouldn't be very useful in any% because the jump rope moons take too long to get. In something like All Missions, however, this could be an effective strategy if you can do it consistently and/or you are bad at getting 100 jumps.

I can imagine that it'd be slower, if only for the fact that the glitch requires setup, but could be useful. If you're inconsistent at jump rope, it could help, and it could also allow a (short) break near the middle of a long category (All Missions or 100%).
