loading times

Yes, I studied computer engineering. Speaking of the timing method, the main thing to do is to define a standard for non-real time, whatever it is between the "Time without loads" that I have proposed or the sum of the in-game times. Summing the in-game times might be more accurate, but I haven't found a way to automate it, so it would require a manual sum. Not only that, for some Crash Courses there is no timer and we need a frame count for those levels.

Ah, very cool!

I'm in favour of your "Time without loads" because of the practicality and convenience. It covers the no-timer crash course missions issue and removes the tediousness that would come from having to manually sum up to 64 individual level times for every single speedrun attempt in the case of the All Races category.

The "time without loads" live timer also adds easy live comparability since you can more easily directly compare yourself against the existing records while attempting speedruns.

Summing the in-game times is more accurate, but in full-game speedruns, margins are not likely to be all the way down to a fraction of a second, and with the loading times removed it will be an equal playing field anyways.

To me, Niloqui's solution is ideal because it removes the inequalities without adding complexity or time to hunting the records.

Sounds very good. We can use Niloqui's tool. I didn't have time to get it running yet but it sure shouldnt be a problem. Furthermore, the leaderboards should reflect that, prioritizing the in-game-time / Niloquick's tool time over the time with loads. I saw that TrackMania Nations Forever does something similar, where Rank #1 has a higher total time than rank 2 but the in-game-time is the fastest: https://www.speedrun.com/tmnf

Edit: So I vote for a similar layout in the leaderboards! Edit 2: I saw you can even click "Real time" in the TMNF leaderboards and it ranks them according to that if you wish to see the fastest real time. That's a nice bonus.

I'm uploading the script on the Resources page. I modified a small thing compared to the script that I uploaded on Mediafire, so I suggest to download the new one.

Thanks for uploading Niloqui. Any information on how we can get the leaderboards system updated to what we discussed?

Nice going Niloquí. I changed some of the game settings to have "time without loads" and "time with loads" for full game runs, as well as "in-game time" for ILs. The RTA fields should be left untouched for IL runs and the in-game time should be left alone for full-game runs, but apparently I can't make timing settings specific for ILs or full-game unfortunately.

Also, the autosplitter can be added to the livesplit autosplitter XML (https://github.com/LiveSplit/LiveSplit/blob/master/Documentation/Auto-Splitters.md#adding-an-auto-splitter) so that it shows up in "edit splits" when the game is set to MM2 without needing to download the script yourself.

For existing full runs I'll just set the loadless time equal to the loadful time, and if anyone wants to manually time loads in their existing runs then I'll update the times (or I'll just make you a mod).
