Hi everyone, I started speedrunning SteamWorld Dig, but i can see that i need to record my run to submit it. The fact is that my computer is pretty bad, so i have a lot of lags using record. Anyone knows a software easy to use and not to heavy for my laptop? Moreover im trying Livesplit, but i think i need some help to use it correctly. Thanks, Zaskar

I'd recommend using OBS Studio to record the game, and then put that recording back into OBS and then record Livesplit with it. It's obviously more time consuming but less demanding on your computer than doing it all at once

or just not use a timer at all and retime it after, not that complicated.

idk how taxing steamworld dig is on your computer, but what i tend to do with my shit pc is use task manager to change the game to high priority, and record/stream in 26~ fps 360p. sometimes i can afford to do 480p if it's a really old game

If your computer is really bad, I'd recommend something like Bandicam over OBS. My laptop basically chokes if I even try to preview something in OBS, never mind trying to record, but Bandicam runs fine, and if you play the game windowed, you can line up your splits to be recorded alongside the game (eg, this is how my Corpse Party recordings look: http://i.imgur.com/ygCkisI.jpg). Bandicam does cost but it isn't all that expensive for just one computer. Anyway, if you can manage OBS fine, it shouldn't be a problem ♪
