Pokemon Blue Speedrun Help

I posted this elsewhere but deleted the post to post it here

So I started Pokemon Blue NSC. I wanted to know during the old route in NSC, the J (box) x9 is actually a J (box) x3. I followed every step multiple times and dont know why. I am playing on a regular GBA. When I walk up to get to the Hall of Fame, I warp to the Pokemon center instead. Anyone know why? What requirements I may have missed? Any help is appreciated. Recently, my Bulbasaur hasn't been reaching Leech Seed while being a level 8. With 15 special I have to reset

Also on the Ditto route, does anyone have a useful visual cue for the inputs?

As for the ditto route the inputs are pretty easy after awhile in blue, and a bit harder in red.

For blue:

On the copy right screen for both pidgey and ditto

hold up b sel until the screen with the gangar and jiggllypuff fades away

then switch to start and hold it till you hear the Pokemon cry

then switch to a and hold it till both menus disappear and hold the direction input which you need to go,

the walking is pretty easy in blue just follow the path.

Then for YOLOBall

I wait for just when the word " appeared" starts writing and pres b then a as fast as possible but not together

then hold down and a to open the items bag

then let go of down and switch to up which will throw out a ball and it should catch it (with ditto if it goes in the ball ya got it, if you did it wrong it will escape no matter what(to my knowledge), pidgey is a bit less picky as you actually have a chance of catching it even if you don't get yoloball).

Hope this helps, if you have a question feel free to ask more here or on the discord if you're a part of that.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll try out the visual cue.

A new problem has occurred. Now whenever I go down to J (box) x9, it completely lags / freezes.

How would you prevent skipping the level? Just out of pure luck?

1- This value represents the options, if you have another option then the usual you will have another number in this spot. (fast, off, shift) 2- Your bulbasaur didn't learn leech seed because he probably skipped level 7 (level he learns leech seed), in gen 1 if you skip a learning level, you skip also the move. 3- If you are talking about manips, until the yoloball is pretty easy, just follow a video with the inputs. In the yoloball, i usually press A on the first "p" of " appeared", try around that letter and you should be good.

you probably have a click item, press b repeatedly to get past it
